Would rather have CBJ 2023 1st. Wouldn’t it be delightful if Boqvist was in this trade?

Not gonna happen without a major swap like the chi first and chinakhov tbh. We need rifht shot defenseman. And he’s one of 2 we have

I don't think hawks take it. DeBrincat more than likely starts with Sillinger or Johnson. Not Chinakov.

But in a quantity deal your not getting assets like either of those. Your centerpiece can be your Chicago first rounder. Chinakhov, texier and the cbj first are all great additions to that centerpiece.

Jarmo says don’t push it (respectfully) and if Chicago isn’t inclined to take a deal like this. Then we’re done in deals for soon to be ufa and an injured defenseman. (Both who are very good)

Debrincat will be an RFA. Starts with sillinger and our first or you don't get debrincat. Hawks have no reason to trade him

Come on, this just wouldn't happen. You're talking about a 24 year old elite player, top 5 goal scorer in the league that is on a super friendly contract for another year and then a RFA after that. You don't see players like this hit the market and for good reason. It would take a massive haul to get debrincat.

Definitely not the worst proposal I’ve seen for Debrincat. Maybe I’m just not as high on some of the pieces from Columbus, but there’s just a few too many question marks for my liking. Given the standard that Davidson set with the Hagel deal, I don’t think the Hawks would move Cat for this. Murphy could definitely be had imo. I actually don’t think it would be too hard to work out a deal for both teams.

I’d pass if I’m CBJ. This feels like a move where the cost to get DeBrincat would, on net, likely leave us where we were without him, if not slightly worse. I think 1C is a little rich for Sillinger (right now, at least), and am bearish on Kent as a C, considering he has played almost exclusively on the wing for years now.

Plus, DeBrincat is about to get a *huge* raise. And if we are going to pay Laine big-money ($9.25M is about $1M-$.75M too high) also, I’m not super comfortable devoting that much cap to two players, at least not without one of them being an elite 1C or something.

I do really want to trade for Murphy, though I know his ask is particularly high right now.

This is the way I see it, Debrincat is not likely wanting to stick around for a rebuild. So it is very likely he just accepts a QO or go to Arb, and gets out of Chicago. Chicago is heading for a rebuild and it is not going to be a fast one considering they either owe this years draft pick to Columbus or next years. Doing this trade gives them some very valuable pieces back for the future and allows them to be in a better position to win in 2-3 years compared to 4-5 years with the same result of losing Debrincat. The last thing Chicago wants to happen is being bad next year and Columbus win the draft lottery with their pick and get Bedard.

That's a huge assumption to make on DeBrincat, I actually think he loves it here and is probably the captain when Toews and Kane retire.
