Huberdeau's not gonna sign on a rebuilding team when he could resign in sunny Florida on a contender

if he wins a cup there he might be inclined to come back home on a good young team

"good" is a pretty loose term here

why? suz and wright will be two good 1 and 2 c and the defence is strong so i don't see why huberdeau wouldn't be interseted in it

Good young team, Montreal is a long way from being good. Carey Price is finished can't stay healthy.

That's really optimistic that 14m in bad cap can be wished away via trades for just picks. Yea Huberneau would make more money in Montreal. But if happiness/sanity is a factor, he signs elsewhere.

if those youngsters ( romanov, harris, guhle and barron) develop at a normal rate we should have a strong defence

i don't think that shedding that cap will be that difficult. with petry playing well since MSL came in he won't be difficult to move next summer and both hoffman and armia don't have much long and have utility.

i don't think huberdeau is scared of mtl, he seemes like a player that wants to play in a big market

Not saying Huberneau is scared of a big market, but to be the face of the a middling franchise when you're the highest paid player just is a heavy burden for most guys. I agree that Montreal might be one team that could offer him about the most money out there. But would take less money and play kinda "second fiddle" on a better team.? Guess we'll know soon.
