Wild are better off keeping fiala. Connor brown is a free agent the following year also like fiala, needing a raise and had less value than fiala. So replace Connor brown whose also older. Change the picks

Condolences to the Melnyk family. I lost my Dad last year, it hurts.

Hopefully the Sens get a new owner who is committed to Ottawa. It hasn't always been easy there, but I wouldn't want to see the franchise leave the capital.

Connor Brown is only 2.5 years older than Fiala. Yes he will need another contract but he will cost AT LEAST 2 M$ less per season than Fiala

Some facts that people may not know/realize :

Fiala scored 5 more points than Brown last season. Only 4 PP points for Brown, 14 PP points for Fiala (so Brown outscored Fiala at even strength)

63.3 oZS% for Fiala compared to 34.0 oZS% for Brown

Brown 2nd in takeaways, Fiala 14th

Brown voted 17th for the Selke, Fiala not Selke caliber

Brown 3rd most used forward on the PK in the whole league. Fiala played 16:34 of PK in the whole season

Fiala is more skilled and flashy (if it was all about skill, Hoffman would be one of the best forwards in the league and Kovalev one of the greatest of all time), Connor Brown is very impactful all over the ice though. I would consider making that swap to get slightly younger (but Sens don't need to get younger lol) but mostly to find a sniper for Stutzle. I wouldn't give a ton on top of Brown to get Fiala.

OP proposal is very reasonable, maybe even more than what it would cost in REALITY

This loss actually is terrible for the Sens with such a bright future ahead, hope for the best for his family, team, and fans

A lot of moving parts. The ongoing lawsuit with the Trinity Group over the LeBreton disaster, reports of four separate groups interested in purchasing the team and salvaging a Downtown arena plan at LeBreton, all while the Sens head into arguably their most important offseason in the rebuild so far.

As a Leaf fan we gotta keep a team in Ottawa, the Leafs need that rivalry. I hate how there's a decent possibilty of moving when the team is going to be great next season or seasons to come.

I mean it makes no sense for wild..they aren't trying to get older, or add more cap. So with respect, they would decline brown being they wouldn't pay him, and already have a winger whose more than ready to replace him in Adam Beckman. Take out connor and add

We're SO far away from even needing to entertain "will the Sens have to move" talks. Simply not at all reflective of the strength of the market, or the the direction of the league as a whole.

I suspect that with Melnyk gone, the John Ruddy lawsuits will quietly resolve pretty quickly. It really seemed like a pissing contest between two billionaires more than anything. After that there's a pretty clear path forward for the Family to sell.

It's.... totally possible? Sens are reported to be heavily interested in Fiala, who is likely on the outs for cap reasons, and there's been a lot of talk that Giroux has interest in playing at home.

Not gonna saying that anyone should be going to buy Fiala and Giroux jerseys, but it's not as though it's completely unreasonable.

Fair enough. Wild might not need or might not be able to afford Brown as well. If Beckman is good (he should) then it's 2 more years of ELC that is very welcome

As for a potential trade, I wouldn't go much higher than this :

Thomson, Lassi
Järventie, Roby
2022 2nd round pick (OTT)
2022 3rd round pick (OTT)

If that's not enough for the Wild, ok then you look somewhere else. That's how you don't end up giving up the moon for a player (like Dorion did for Duchene). Sens priority should be signing Claude Giroux anyway
