Doubt the Avs have must interested in Drouin, especially considering how brutal his injury record has been. Also, MacKinnon plays with Landy and Rantanen.

Supposedly a deal centered around James Van Riemsdyk and another piece.

Petry wants out of Canada, So he's not waiving to go back to the Oiler due to his family situation.

Where did you saw that? I’m curious to know who said that.

I don't know if it's factual, But Eric Engles was the one mentioning that it was done. But supposedly the Flyers are on Petry's no trade list so he'd have to waive it.

I think that rumor is outdated.
Speculation: A TDL deal fell through (according to Hughes). Likely that was the rumored Petry for JVR and a prospect.
If it was plan B for Ristolainen not re-signing, it makes sense that they pulled out once he signed.
Philly was also (apparently) on Petry's no trade list, so he could have nixed it which lead to the Ristolainen signing.

Thanks, I was just going to say the exact same thing, it looks much outdated. I think he winds up either in Columbus or Pittsburgh if not home in Detroit.

No chance Avs hand you a 1st for a year of an oft-injured Drouin - he just doesn't have that kind of value.

first of all it's a really late first, then if the season goes well he's gonna want to stay in col. he's a loyal player and he won't cost alot because of his past injurys

Pittsburgh would be interesting.
If they are looking for someone to replace Letang, Petry will expire at the same time as Crosby, so he fits the window without an over-commitment of money/term.

Doesn't matter if it's a late 1st - they need that pick to either select a player in a strong draft or acquire a younger player that doesn't get injured as much and offers more than just offense. It just doesn't make sense for the Avs to make this trade.
