I like this guy. An elite shotblocker and a solid guy who leads by example on the ice. Could be a very handy 3rd pairing defenseman in the future

I see him as the "throw-in prospect" asset in ACGM trades all the time.

I see people using Kerfoot as a "throw-in contract" in Armchair GM trades all the time.

And the most common response is "Toronto has to pay to dump Kerfoot's contract".

Then I looked at Kerfoot's statistics:

- 46 points (on pace for 60 point season)
- 42 even-strength points (39th in NHL)
- 03 short-handed points (16th in NHL)
- 2.86 points per 60 mins (35th in NHL)
- 15:10 time on ice (220th FW in NHL)
- $3,500,000 cap-hit (expires in 2024)
- Kills penalties (third best PK in NHL)
- Gets close to zero power-play time
- Mostly plays in with bottom-sixers

And realized that the consensus on this website means nothing.

I dont get how Kerfoot was ever a cap dump lul

The guys got 46 points with no powerplay time. Plus he has shown to be an effective top 6 LW who can also fill in for Center both 5 on 5 and PK wise.

And his contract is actually pretty good rn. As for teams wanting to save actual dollars they will probs be eyeing him.

Cause once his bonus is paid he is owed 750k

The consensus on AGM means nothing. They're all idiots, that's why I don't go on it anymore

Certainly statiscally Kokkonen hasn't shown much in the past few years. For his sake and the Leafs, let's hope he's a competent AHLer next year with potential to be an NHLer in a few years.
Glad the Leafs signed him, but look at the Marlies....almost all of them aren't NHLer, especially the the Marlie Dmen.

On CF, the Leafs highest paid players receive so little criticism when they play poorly. But the so called secondary players get hammered constantly. And the solution always seems to be is to trade for bottom enders from non playoff teams.

really, a few months ago the majority of people here were saying Marner must be traded, a cash dump who the Leafs need to retain or add to get rid of, Marner is worth Nylander style money.

funny how all that stopped with Marner scoring at an almost 1 1/2 points per game rate right now.

there's a reason why Leaf fans are the most hated.

Well, I was one guy that said Marner should have been traded in the offseason so 11m could have spent better. But I don't know if Leafs fans are the most hated, but certainly on CF, so many Leaf fans hate their own players. The bottom enders seem to get so much criticism and there is this belief that bottom enders from other teams are so much more superior

You want $11 million more wisely spent, go back in time and Will Smith slap Dubas for thinking about signing J.T. when Dubas still had Marner, Matthews, Nylander, Kapanen all to resign.

It is Dubas screwed Dubas, not LouLam screwed Dubas....
same goes for Bret Hart and Vince.

Ha Ha. I thought it was strange/sad that Bret Hart thought Vince screwed him. Surely Bret knew that wrestling was "scripted". The fact that Bret wasn't told of the script because Bret was leaving for another wrestling federation, I never really understood his anger.

what

During WJC 2 years ago he and Niemela were a good pairing

Kokkonen did the defense and Niemala could focus on offense. Kind of like Brodin-Dumba or Doumelin-Letang.
