You're not getting Chychrun for that. And Petry's wife already said that she and the kids are in Detroit long term. So Petry isn't going to waive to be 1,000 miles from his family for the next 3 years when he already said that he wants to be with them.

First trade is possible if Klinkberg leave Dallas.

I wouldn't do Dvorak for Monahan, i think Dvorak has a better trade value.

Allen trade might happen if we give our 2022 3rd (almost a 2nd).

Chychrun gonna cost more than that (look at Eichel trade). Also, Habs won't pay the price for 3 years of Chychrun. He's going to a contender.

If we gotta retain on Armia for 3 years, i'd rather keep him. He's not THAT bad. At 6'4 and 220 pounds, he's good to have on our bottom 6 for now.

I don't mind keeping Hoffman, he can also fill any winger spot in the top 9 until a prospect is ready. We need some players to fill shirts, can't trade em all.

Petry has a 15 team no trade list, he can't refuse em all.

You guys are funny, thinking Petry's approval is what stands in the way of that trade. Every team declines obviously.

Did you say the same thing when we said we would get at least a 1st for Chiarot and at least another 1st for Lehkonen? (We got Barron, worth more than a 1st, + a 2nd)

Guess we'll see what happen this summer. If Petry gets traded for something, i hope you admit you were wrong this time...

Except I never said any of that... I said he wasn't worth that and I said he would not get that from the Blues, both of which remain true. So not sure what you're on about. Either way, you are not getting Bourque for Petry, let alone Bourque plus a 2nd. Ask any Stars fan around here, they'll tell you the same thing. In fact, they've said it repeatedly, but nobody listens.

Yea, many Avs fans also said we never get Barron for Lehkonen. And many Panthers fans said we never get a 1st for Chiarot.

I don't know about you specifically, but hundreds of fans from every teams said we never gets 1st for Chiarot or Lehkonen. They were ALL wrong, but none of them admit it after. In fact, many of them changed username or deleted account to create a new one.

You said Chiarot isnt worth a 1st, but if we got a 2023 unprotected 1st, a 3rd and a decent prospect, there was probably many offers of a 1st round pick in 2022 or 2023. So, many GM's around the league thought Chiarot was worth a 1st, but not you. Who's right and who's wrong? Your guess...

I'm right. The GM that traded for Chiarot overpaid and will regret it soon enough.

You're saying all the GM's who made offered more than a 1st (Probably many GM's, since there was a bidding war that made the price raise to a 2023 unprotected 1st, a 3rd and a decent prospect).

So basically, you're better at hockey decisions than many NHL GM's... Right...

You act like I'm the only one saying this stuff. There were also actual hockey execs who said the same things. It's a rather widespread opinion, dude.

You said yourself Chiarot wasn't worth a 1st, but many GM's would have paid that price.

If you say X car isn't worth X money, but many car experts (best in the world) would pay that price for that car, maybe you're wrong?

Chiarot was worth a 1st, even more. You gotta admit it, or you look stubborn.

And i don't remember any execs saying Chiarot wasn't worth a 1st, only execs saying they wouldn't trade their 1st for any rental.

1- By your logic, every trade in the history of trades in all sports since the dawn of sports teams trading has been exact real value. Not one uneven trade, not one fleecing, not one overpay, ever. Now are you really gonna die on that hill? THAT is stubborn.

2- I saw multiple articles with multiple NHL execs saying flat out that Chiarot is not worth a 1st (but they added he'll probably get one because deadline nuttiness), mostly at The Athletic IIRC. Again, this is about as far from a hot take as one can get.

My point is 99% of the non-Habs fans were laughing at Habs fans for saying we were gonna get a 1st+ for Chiarot. They were all wrong, and now they're all MIA. If you're not one of them, good for you.

If you could link any of those many articles, i'd love that, because i'm a huge The Athletic reader and never saw any of them. As i said, i saw many articles saying they wouldn't trade their 1st for a rental, but never was Chiarot's name mentionned.

Also, here's the definition of the word 'worth' : The value of something measured by its qualities or by the esteem in which it is held. Esteem is the key word there. I know no one would pay a 2023 unprotected 1st for Chiarot under 3 years contract. He's a playoff beast, we knew what he's worth in the playoffs, and nobody seemed to know it here except Habs fans. With him in your lineup, nobody approach your goalie without getting hurt.

Can't wait to see FLO win the cup, with Chiarot playing 20+ minutes, but everyone gonna pretend he was useless to winning the cup. He's a big factor in why we got far last year.

Habs haters gonna hate i guess...

Ehh, there's at least two ways to look at worth. Yes, if you go by the business definition, a piece is worth exactly as much as one will pay for it. That is not a dictionary definition, though, it's an adage. In the real world, things don't always cost their value. There are bargains and there are regrettable rip-offs.

Yes, there are many bad trades. They still paid market value at the time, in a bidding war with other teams. It's not what the player is worth, it's what he's worth on the market.
