Preds decline. They see Lauzon as a long term piece, he's also going to be cheaper and fit better in their system than Barrie. Penguins probably decline too unless they sign a goalie in free agency, I imagine they view themselves competitive as long as Crosby/Malkin/Letang are together.

Pens don't decline they immediately accept that extreme overpay.

I don't see a world where they accept and don't sign a proven starter in free agency. It's an overpay for a rental but Pittsburgh could alternatively extend Jarry. I don't think Holland would ever pay that much for a goaltender either for this trade to be realistic.

A hockey goalie is the most important position in pro sports. And the Oilers have little cap space, so they’re looking for elite tenders at bargain prices.
