you might have "inside knowledge of the canucks" but no so much for the leafs. 1. leafs have cap space to upgrade their defence without giving up two prime assets for a meh man. This is not good value for the Leafs.
please canuck fans, can't Tanev be traded to another team besides the Leafs?

I'm sure shattenkirk is number one on their list and they looking at grabbing a D from Anaheim, shattenkirk won't sign in TO. There's a lot that has to go right here but Tanev is a perfect fit there or BUF. they loved with him Reilly at the Worlds last year and would give TO a true #1 pairing that's relatively young.

And besides that, do you not like any of this? I think this plan is very tight

Just saw your activity, appears your mandate is crapping on every idea to do with the leafs. I hope they miss the playoffs next year.

Actually I'm really not a Leaf fan. But I do understand team building. And these god awful trades to the Leafs just because they have some cap space are generally just terrible. I would crap over some other Tanev trades to other NHL team IF I EVER SAW ONE, but no it's always to the Leafs.
And your suggestion that the Leafs are after Shattenkirk, we'll see but I doubt it. Shatterkirk is a good/great PP guy but just average at even strength not what the Leafs are looking for. Leafs have cap space and might be able to pull deals with teams with Dmen protection issues.
I would think a more logical fit for Tanev would be to either NYR or Bruins (the so called loser of the Shattenkirk sweepstakes). Rangers have a excess of young forwards, and Bruins have young prospects. Will I ever see a non Leaf Tanev trade?
