You haven't been watching Kupari play if you think he's a "meh prospect."

I'm not that big on Konecny. The Kings can do better for cheaper elsewhere.

Agreed. Especially for the price of two 1st round picks, two 2nd round picks, a 4th, and a 5th.

Kupari is 22 and has yet to do anything spectacular whatsoever. He is a meh prospect at this point.

And Tk is a young top 6 forward who has more points than most in his draft class. He is very underrated and could prolly blossom into something even better with a change of scenery. He is fast and skilled which is what the kings need

Habs probably accept but then we already have more than a full stable of NHL ready or near ready prospects. I guess it would be a good problem to have and opens up the option of moving Edmundson.

The Kings have said multiple times that they intend to take their time with their prospects and not rush them to the NHL. Kupari was leading the AHL in scoring for a stretch last season. He has been one of the two best call-ups for the Kings this season along with Arthur Kaliyev. He has elite speed, good size, and has some bite and nasty to him. He's going to be a quality middle six forward in the NHL.

Konecny is fine, but he's not worth more than a guy like Tyler Toffoli who scores more and is on a better contract. Toffoli returned a B prospect, a 1st round pick, and a 5th round pick. Pitlick was included as a cap dump.

An equivalent trade would be a Kings 1st round pick, a 5th round pick, Akil Thomas, and Austin Wagner (single season cap dump).

Kupari is having a similar year to Morgan Frost, who was drafted a year earlier.

Konecny is worth a first and a fourth. After that, the phone line goes dead.

Prospects develop differently but go off
