For Bear, I think the Canes would ask for Garland.

I don't hate that for the Avs...but man, I do think you'd regret moving Girard. I get that Byram takes his spot long term, but I don't think you make that move yet.

I like Garland, i think the value is close.
Lots of bad blood with Mackinnon though, they despise eachother

I really think any Girard trades should be put to bed at this point. Colorado traded damn near all of their defensive prospects.

I don't know what you could give up for Ehlers. The Canucks don't have a lot of players that the Jets would want to get in order to give up Ehlers.

This is true (thanks for Helleson, and please be kind to my sweet baby angel Josh Manson!). I don't know why anyone would want to subtract from that top 4.

To the point that Garland will never play for the Avs. Personally I think Garland is the kind of guy that is never a key piece on a cup winner, maybe as a role player but if you are planning on Garland being a driver on a championship team you are in for a ton of disappointment.

I'm still really bummed Helleson and Barron were moved. I get that the team felt the need to add, but I really wish one of those trades was done with a different prospect. Oh well. I'm pulling for both to have lots of success with their new teams.

Garland is a fan favourite but value wise I don’t think it’s too far off, however Vancouver really needs a defensive d-man

Very, very, very surprised at Barron, especially in that deal. First time I've ever thought "WTF Sakic?!". But, prospects are for peasants (and rebuilding teams), and flags fly forever, so you might as well just go win the cup now. Tampa said "f*ck it" to prospects and picks 3 or 4 years ago, and are easily a favorite again this year. Giver.
