Scenario 1 Next years Leafs

Created by: MadLin27
Team: 2022-23 Toronto Maple Leafs
Initial Creation Date: Mar. 31, 2022
Published: Mar. 31, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
1) Try to re-sign Mikheyev. If this doesn't get him you sign Engvall and Kase.

2) Trade Mrazek to Chicago with Kase, Duszak, and a pick. Chicago gets a potential fit in net while adding a quality middle 6 frwd that they can flip at the deadline or keep longer term. They also get a dark horse AHL guy and a pick.

3) Kerfoot to the highest bidder. I chose the Jets because they aren't as deep at LW next year. I'm open to other suggestions. Sens, Oilers?

4) Re-sign Lyubushkin. He is an important piece for the Leafs going forward. He is what everyone wishes Justin Holl was. Physical 4/5 Dman that plays responsible defence.

5) Final spots at LW2 can be battled out between guys like Robertson, Knies, and Mikheyev, while the rest of the roster is filled out with guys like Steeves, Abruzzese, Holmberg, Anderson, Spezza, Simmonds, Clifford, etc..
Dubas will also likely go dumpster diving and find some stud that'll make 750k-1mill

6) Campbell gets a good raise but only 2 years. Still lots of ???. We'll see how the playoffs look.

I don't hate Kerfoot but Idk if the Jets have the cap space for him, I'd like them to take a run at signing Lybushkin like you have here and move out some of their existing dmen.

That does nothing for CHI except hit us with unwanted cap and players that aren't any better then what we have all for a 4th? No thanks

You don't think Kase would be a good fit for Chi?
He'd probably be their top scorer behind Kane and Debrincat lol

Nah he wouldn't but let me use Kampf as an example. He had virtually no production with us and now on a good team is getting production, this would be something to consider with Kase and CHI and would definitely be something I would look at and a contributing factor as to why I wouldn't take this proposal. Let alone the fact I'm getting lumped with a 3m+ cap for a guy I don't want for a couple of seasons.
