Zadorov won't be resigned as Flames have lots of LD depth, Gudbranson could very likely take a multi year deal for cheap just to not uproot his family again

This is why I think Calgary pays to trade Monohan. Even with him out of the picture its going to be tough. I also think a couple of those guys are over paid but not enough to make up the difference.

You see the problem is you keep driving this specific part. There is a reported lots of interest in Monahan and lots of examples of teams taking shots on players recuperating without that other team paying assets. Risto comes to mind as an example, Schmidt twice.

Now it's very likely that with him going into surgery again anything involving him is probably very condition based but I doubt Calgary is paying to move him. Lucic yes, but Monahan no

Just because he’s an RFA doesn’t mean he can’t get traded somewhere I’m assuming kylington will get a bit more than 2.5 and I don’t see mangiapane signing for under 5 .. don’t get me wrong they can def make it work I’m just basing off of this situation

Kylington likely gets a 1 year deal so anything more than 2.5 for 1 year would be dumb. They will make it work and there is no chance in hell they would ever considered trading Mange before Monahan or Lucic
