Description
Mittelstadt for Murphy and Connolly
Casey could probably use a change of scenery at this point. Murphy seems like a good candidate to be Power’s D partner. Chicago just signed him to an extension so they probably aren’t in much of a rush to move him. Sabres take on Connolly as an incentive

Olofsson for picks
He’s been a lot better lately and is scoring again but I think it’s still time to move on. It’s hard to place Peterka in this lineup without moving him

A 3rd for Monahan
Monahan would be an interesting reclamation project. They have a lot of picks as it is and spending a 3rd wouldn’t be the end of the world. He helps them reach the floor and if they’re out of playoff contention by next deadline they can hopefully trade him for more than what they have up

Re-sign Malcolm Subban and sign Portillo to an ELC
Assuming Devon Levi is going back to North Eastern, I think they’ll be aggressive in trying to have Portillo turn pro. Bringing Subban back could be good as he can help mentor Portillo in Rochester

Extend Anderson
Sounds like they want to bring him back and he also likes it here. They can overpay him and get closer to the cap floor

Sign Nico Sturm
Would be a good option as a 4C, I like Larsson as an option too if they can reunite the LOG line from a couple years ago

Sign PK Subban
He’s not nearly what he was in his Montreal days but I could see him wanting to come here to try and reignite his career. Good locker room guy and I think he would be a good partner for Power or Dahlin

Monahan is finished for awhile, having another hip surgery, might have to give us a pick to take him.

That's cool, I wouldn't move Mitts for a guy on his 2nd hip surgery

They are about equally effective right now so suit yourself

If they are equally effective, there is no way I’d move Mitts for him. Cheaper cap hit and younger with more team control.

No, they are equally effective because Monahan is on LTIR for a hip surgery and Mitts is a borderline bust

Subban even in the third pair looks washed up and you put him in the first pair, no way, that would be a terrible signing. Keep Olofsson and Mitts. Monahan bad.

Shows me you don’t know how he’s played lately. Under Granato, he’s been above .5 ppg as well as having very good defensive metrics. He’s been playing better as he’s played more and recovered from injury this season. Sure he was overhyped, but I believe he will have a long successful career as a 2 or 3C.

I do not think either Subban would be the best options for the organization in their respective roles. I would not mind PK playing 3rd pairing with Samuelsson, but not top pair with Dahlin. Malcolm just has not been effective in the AHL as of late, he would not be a good mentor for Portillo.
