Subban is lucky he got the game misconduct, probably saved him from a hospital stay. And Johnston would dribble Geersten around the ice, or Chara would, or even Martin. The hit by Wahlstrom was clean.

I do not think the hit was intentional, but was in no way clean. Straight knee-to-knee.

But Wahlstrom turtled. Didn’t even answer the bell against Subban. His time will come.

Hughes literally swing his knee into the path of wahlstrom. Maybe he'll learn it's better to brace for hit than trying to spin out of the way at the last second

Wahlstrom shouldn’t be throwing knee-to-knee to other teams star players.

turtled lmao - Subban jumped him. If Subban was a man , he would have challenged him to a fight.

Nonsense. Wahlstrom led with the knee.

Wahlstrom hit Hughes in the shoulder and hip before the knee. Hughes should've taken the hit, instead he tried to dodge it and it made it worse. It doesn't get any cleaner that that.

If someone throws knee-on-knee hit on young superstar, they should expect what comes next.

Every team that takes a run at Hughes thinks they are the first to do so. It happens all the time. League should know what comes next.

Watch the clip. Slow it down if you need to. He led with the knee, which made contact first. Classic knee-to-knee.

It was a clean hockey hit, no way was it dirty. And Subban jumped the kid like the slew footing coward he is. He could have said lets go and let the kid defend himself, but he jumped him. Talk about his time will come, no matter what sweater Subban is in next year, you can bet your you know what the Isles will be waiting for him....Martin and Johnston.

It wasn't a knee on knee hit, that's what you want to believe because you are salty that Hughes got injured, that's understandable. Barzal takes clean hits like that , the difference is he absorbs the hit like a man.

Wahlstrom looked around, saw an odd man rush and when he wasn't looking that's when Subban jumped him. He didn't even say one word to Wahlstrom because if he did , Wahlstrom would drop the gloves in a second. Subban was trying to gain a competitive advantage.

As long as Trotz is the head coach of the isles, there's nothing the Devils could do to gain the upper hand physically. He'll dress a few of his ECHL level goons to take care of things. It's very likely Subban would gotten injured if he didn't get thrown out of todays game.

That is not true, he led with his left shoulder. Hughes created this "bad hit" by trying to veer right. Wahlstrom was already committed to the hit, there's was nothing he could do differently.

Even guys like Tom Wilson don't pull this sh*t lol - most players have enough respect to let the guy know theyre dropping the gloves.

I'm sure you remember Subban tried to catch Goodrow off guard last month, dropped his gloves when Goodrow looked away and ended up getting rag dolled

The Identity Line does the same thing as Wahlstrom did, I'd say every player on the Islanders have high hit stats under Trotz. You're literally salty because the Devils are in last in the division and the fact that "superstar" Jack Hughes is injured.

he didn't really have a chance to answer the bell or drop the gloves, it's not like subban squared up prior. he's not a great fighter anyway but he wasn't given a fair shot.

Nothing clean there. It was unquestionably knee-first hit.

Say what you want about Subban, but he responded appropriately. If Devils had done same to Barzal, I doubt Isles would have just shrugged it off.

Well, in fairness, Wilson is not above this stuff as he showed last year with Buchnevich and Panarin, but totally agree that PK is a POS and a coward, and someday soon, someone is going to really give it to him. I hope I'm watching when they do.

The hit on Hughes was clean and players shouldn't have to fight for clean hits. That being said, I don't know if Subban saw the hit all the way through so if he wants to challenge Wahlstrom because he thinks it was dirty, fine. But don't be a coward and jump him, call him out and fight like a man. Wahlstrom isn't afraid to drop the gloves. Karma always gets teams who break the code.

Subban is not a fighter, which is why he had to jump Wahlstrom. That's actually false, The players on the ice told Trotz Subban didn't say anything and just jumped him. It's pretty telling that no one else on the Devils challenged Wahlstrom or even attempted to finish their checks the rest of the game.

Unfortunately your star player can't take a clean hit, Wahlstrom would've absorbed a hit like that and stayed in the game.
