You’re crazy if you think the Habs are retaining 50% on Petry

I’m sure he would be the first GM to ever lie.

There's zero chance of the Habs retaining $3,125,000 on Jeff Petry for that offer. Hughes wont retain and even then that doesn't get Petry at $3,125,000 anyways.

He stated he wanted a first for Chiarot and everyone called Habs fans crazy for making mock trades based on that offer. Remember what he ended up getting? He stated he needed to be “blown away” by an offer for Lehkonen and “didn’t need to” trade Kulak and then got a first+second round value for a “third liner” and a second round pick for a “bottom pair defencemen”. He got both his asks for those guys too. This guy gets what he wants, and the same thing is gonna happen with Petry as he continues to show that the issue was Ducharme and gets back to his old form under Ducharme. One team who misses out on Klingberg will panic for petry (I’m looking at you dallas). Montreal doesn’t need to trade him, so just like the Lehkonen and Kulak trades they’re the team in power in these negotiations.

Look at the moves he’s made since coming to the team and tell me you wouldn’t think he’s the guy if he was leading your team

Ditching players for assets is easy.

I wouldn’t let a few selling trades convince me of a guys capability

Sens don't have any need for Lindblom. Already have Joseph and Formenton in the bottom six, both of whom need new deals. No reason whatsoever to go out and get another bottom six winger, let alone one so expensive.

Oh yeah so easy. Dealing a pending UFA defencemen who’s an analytical eyesore for a haul as the first domino to fall in what was projected by all analysts for months to be a “seller’s market” was easy. Trading another pending UFA defencemen who’s played third pairing for you most of the season for almost the same return as Taylor Hall got last year was easy (steal of a trade by the bruins though). Grabbing a relative nobody off of waivers and having him now produce at a .64 ppg pace since joining the team was easy. Finding a head coach who rejuvenated the entire lineup and helped their two future stars produce neat or above point per game paces since taking over was easy. Convincing one of your top college free agents who as of last summer was going to UFA this august to instead forgo that freedom and sign with this rebuilding project was easy.

He did well at the deadline. Most sellers did. The easy part of a rebuild is selling. The hard part is building a good team. Don’t go raising the banner just yet.

Yall gotta start looking ta Habs player under MSL and erase all memory of Ducharme. Its like theyre a brand new team.

And considering the Flyers just gave Risto an extension means Petry must have positive value since hes 3x the player Risto is.

If Petry is leaving with 50% retained and we gotta eat a contract, im looking at Bobby Brink coming back.

And he makes $4,000,000 in salary next season. Sens won't target him and won't pay to get him.
