Younger, faster, deeper, cheaper -- exactly why we wouldn't be trading Max Comtois and Isac Lundestrom for Brock Boeser.

The Boston first and Max Jones or Sam Steel might be about all we would offer for him.

Uh, strange caps trade. I can’t see Tryamkin returning to the NHL, but if there’s any team that could convince him to come back, playing with Ovi, Kuzy, and Orlov would do it. Since it’s a 7th rounder that likely wouldn’t become anybody anyway, caps accept.

A more fair comparable would be Brock Nelson for Nils Hoglander. It doesn’t make sense for you guys but in no way is the value that far off

WHAT LMAO. Thats even worse. and yes, the value is way off. Dobson is a perennial #1 defenseman and is like 22 years old. Pending RFA. He is about to enter his prime. and he is a RD. Miller is great but he isnt worth that. This isnt happening

And Brock is worth more than Nils. Not even close. Brock is going to score 40 this season and is on like a 45 goal pace if we didnt have our entire team get covid. this is ridiculous. It would be more of our 2022 1st, Wilde and Pageau/Palmieri for him.

Miller is on pace for 95 points. You’re acting like that’s nothing. Dobson wouldn’t even be our best d man. He’s amazing but my point stands. Miller for Dobson is not unreasonable. Maybe for you guys cause you have nobody else

Dobson has been better than Hughes this season - If Vancouver offered Miller and 2 1st rd picks for Dobson, Isles would still decline. What are you implying saying the isles have nobody else?

I’m implying the Islanders don’t really have anyone to replace Dobson so they decline. Also Hughes has been very good this season and has 53 points so idk how much better Dobson could be

Besides the Avalanche, there isn't a team in the NHL who has a better trio of top pair caliber defenseman (Pelech, Pulock,Dobson) than the Isles. That's the strength of the isles and why all 3 of them are untouchable. I know Hughes has been very good, Dobson has been slightly better.

Brock Nelson has more goals than anyone on Vancouver, but sure, he's nobody else.
Ilya Sorokin beats Thatcher Demko in pretty much every major goalie category, but yeah, nobody else on that team besides Dobson.
    I could go on.

Here's the thing - JT Miller is a fine player, sure. He plays center mostly, which is a position the Islanders are strong at. You're saying he's equal value to Noah Dobson, which, in a vacuum, is not an insane thing to say...but when you add context, it makes no sense. Why would the Islanders trade a young asset who still may have room to grow for a guy who plays an already strong position? The Isles have Barzal at 1C($7M), Brock Nelson at 2C($6M), JG Pageau at 3C ($5M), and Casey Cizikas at 4C ($2.5M). JT Miller is a very good player, but with this trade the Islanders are adding to their deepest position pool, subtracting from their strong RD depth chart, and not addressing any of their real needs (LD and top 6 winger).

Your whole argument is determined on you misinterpreting what I was saying so I’m not even going to continue to argue

Saw your clarification after I posted, so scratch what I said in the first paragraph then. Still stand by what I said in the second paragraph - the value is fine in a vacuum but JT Miller adds to a position the Islanders don't need to strengthen and ignores where they need to get better.
