Just makes no sense with the cap and also horrible value, I wouldn't even trade Lily for Garland straight up if they were both on the same deal

I was thinking about adding Holl as well to balance out the cap. Would that make it more fair or less fair?

As is I figured liljigren extension plus Kerfoot is > schenn plus Garland in terms of cap hit. So this trade does avoid cap problems for the leafs somewhat

Leafs say no quite quickly. Timothy Liljegren is playing extremely well, and looks like a top 4 guy out there. He's not someone we are moving, in a deal where the centerpiece is Conor Garland.

Toss a pick for Kerfoot if you want after you trade Garland elsewhere.

How much of a pick? 3rd?

honestly it's refreshing to see someone actually value Liljegren after several years of him being the throw in guy on all these ACGMs

That's probably pretty close, but I don't agree with Cor in that we should be shipping him out for a pick.

He's a valuable piece that can move up and down the line-up.

Likely yeah. He's had a really good year, so maybe a 2nd or maybe there's a 5th in there too, but I don't think many would be upset about adding a 3rd to our draft capital.

I like Kerf, would rather keep him around, but we want to upgrade the 2nd line, our third line is pretty set (though, all of Engvall, Kase and Mikheyev are UFA or RFA) and Kerf not a guy you keep on the fourth line.

I will be very surprised if the Leafs management waited this long to develop Liljegren just to ship him off for a FWD when they have Robertson + Knies coming up on an ELC.

No hate just not happening.

No rage at all. Seems like legit trade.

(now, if you are responsible for the lackluster play from any of our 7 goalies this year, rage is coming)

I feel so bad for Devils fans. They had a top 5 goaltender in Corey Schneider in the middle of the decade but couldn’t put a team in front of him. Now they finally have a good team and no goaltending!

Seriously.
And to top it off, Schneider made his first start in two years the other night and won. Against the Devils.
Sheesh.

You get the standard Leaf offer of Mrazek, Holl and a 3rd for Miller and Demko and a 5th
