Big Changes Allen and MacFarland

Created by: Capitalfail67
Team: 2022-23 Washington Capitals
Initial Creation Date: Apr. 5, 2022
Published: Apr. 5, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Capitals need to fire GMBM and the entire coaching staff... i would aim to hire Allen who currently coaches the Bears... they missed hiring Spencer Carbery who would have been an absolutely perfect

i would hire Orpik to mentor the youth groom him for a possible coaching position.. would love to add Jay Leach and Rocky Thompson as associate coaches.

MacFarland or Horcoff i would like to hire as our new GM... both have been AGM to some of the NHLs best gms...some new blood would do wonders for this franchise....

WSH
  1. 2022 4th round pick (BUF)
Additional Details:
mentoring role.... i like the idea of Eller in Buffalo low risk mild reward for Buffalo
2.
WSH
  1. 2022 2nd round pick (SEA)
  2. 2022 2nd round pick (FLA)
Additional Details:
an early and late 2nd round pick for Carlson feel lite but Capitals free up 8m in cap space... and the PP will have a new look now
SEA
  1. Carlson, John
Additional Details:
Seattle gets a franchise player... Carlson defense is average but he can put up a lot of points.
3.
LAK
  1. 2022 2nd round pick (FLA)
  2. 2022 3rd round pick (WSH)
4.
WSH
  1. 2022 3rd round pick (BUF)
Additional Details:
early 3rd for Samsonov...

i know Buffalo has some talent coming up in Levy and UPL but Sammy imo would be a solid calculated risk esp if he can meet his potential... let sammy and UPL split starts and Levy more than likely needs time in the AHL

Jets Decline
While I do like that Hughes is a righty, I don’t think the Jets need another C to put in the center pool line with Barron, Gustafsson, Brooks, Johnson, Eyssimont, Lucius, Blaisdell, Krakovsky, and Nikkanen.

Carlson is a liability where Demelo is extremely reilable... also 5m + in cap difference is wonderful

The value was ok, but the prospect wasn’t a fit

Jets should take that if it was offered to them.

And isn't two second rounders enough?

We got him for a third, and he has increased his value with his play, and to me two 2nd's looks nice to me.

I love how we shou,d accept something that doesn’t fit, just because it’s enough value wise… hell no.
If WSH wants DeMelo… they should offer what we need, not what’s convenient for them.
We don’t need Hughes, so why should we accept him.

I like the idea of Lars Eller replacing Cody Eakin for Buffalo, and if Samsonov can be brought in for merely a third round pick I’d be very happy with that.
