Pretty good list. I wouldn’t have carlson, brodin, hamilton, or hughes that high personally. Campbell seems pretty out of place too.

MAF is not the 4th best goalie 26th in gaa, 21st in save %, 15th in wins. Sure he was on a crap team in CHI but he isn’t top 10. He won a Vezina because he played in the craptastic west last year, and VGK was actively trying to give him away.

Brodin and Pelech are really high considering they are there for their defense and Slavin is better defensively. Hughes isn't a top 10 LD yet considering he can't play D - goalies are a crapshoot year to year so I won't argue but I disagree with quite a few Gs

Its not bad, I was on board most of it until the goalies. Its always the goalies somehow.

Draisaitl should be higher. He's the ONLY player in the past 10 years to score 50 goals / 100 points in a season, and he's done it twice, 2018-19 and this year. Incredibly, he was on pace to do it in both of the COVID-shortened seasons too, meaning he could have done four times what nobody else in the world has done since Malkin did it in 2011-12.

He's reliable and versatile too. He kills penalties. He has taken more faceoffs than any other player in the league. He has taken 100 more defensive zone faceoffs than the next highest player on this list. He has played more minutes vs Elite players than any other player in the league not named Anze Kopitar. He does everything, and he does everything well.

Wild that he’s been the only guy to do that in 10 years, when in the covid shortened list, there were a bunch of guys that probably would have/could have done it.
Draisaitl himself was right there (though he was not on pace, one goal shy). Pastrnak would have gotten there almost for sure. Matthews had an outside chance. He would have needed 20 points in 12 games, but its not crazy for a player like that to have a good week and bust through that threshold easily.

goalies are very random, the defence infront of them plays the rank for majority of goalies but usually there is a consensus top 5 goalies that are just consistently more dominant

analytically pelech and brodin have actually been better then slavin defensively the last 2 years.

And that's it. Crazy, huh? But as you say, in 2019-20 COVID robbed him and Pastrnak of it while another 2 had a shot:

Zibanejad was on pace for 69, 50-41-91

Barring injury, Matthews will join this exclusive list this season. Dark horse: McDavid is on pace for 47 goals. He has 41 goals with 11 games remaining but has 6 goals in his past 5 games, and 12 in his past 14. Watch this space.

In 10 seasons, only Draisaitl has scored 50/100 (so far).

And in 19-20 Draisaitl had 43 goals in 71 games which is a 49.66 goal pace. I don't know where you went to school but I was taught that you round to the nearest whole. Ergo, 49.66 rounds to 50.

I did the same for Zibanejad, who had 41 goals in 57 games with 12 games remaining, which works out to a 49.63 pace.
