Draft time moves

Description
This off season is going to hurt, so dont get too attached to any particular player. Allvin and his chipmunks are all going to be trying to turn this team around. I think there are some definite positives to realize from this season though.

1. Some of the players who we were hating on, aren't so bad. Guys such as Myers, and Poolman have not been such defensive eye sores.

2. There is still a lot of work to do

3. We need to get younger, faster, and tougher

4. Establishing the new leadership in the locker room should be paramount. It needs to change from being the Miller, Tanev, Markstrom and Edler locker room to the Horvat, Demko, Petterson, and Hughes locker room. In order to do so, we need to slowly remove those old guys from the room and create spots for the younger guys to step up and take charge.

I think that we will finish about 14th in the draft and would think that Connor Geekie would go about there. Big centre could fill in the 3c or a winger in a few years.
To be safe I put NJD at 7th in the draft, thats where I think they would land, and with that pick I selected RD David Jiricek, hughes's RD partner that we have been looking for all these years.

Sent out some guys who we have extra of now for a few picks, don't come after me for value, it was more for the space IDC if your team accepts.

Martin will be the backup

I think we should use our farm team to develop players so having more in the system and closer by would be a real benefit to the long term goals of the team

K, Devs fans, let me know what you think. Corey Schnider went for a 1st rounder and at the time that was the nucks selling low. I think that boeser is worth a little bit more than the 7th OA so I threw in zacha from you guys and a 3rd and 4th to balance it out. Let me know - Value wise - if you think this is fair

You would have to pay Buffalo to take on that LTIR contract, and a 3rd pairing defender doesn’t really cut it. I realize you don’t care if it actually works for the other team that you’re trading with, but that’s kind of how trades have to work or they don’t happen.

I get it, more of a symbolic thing, I have my doubts about poolman ever playing again, this is pretty much exactly the ferland deal all over again. They only take up cap space so I am not sure why buffalo wouldnt want to have it aside from contract slots.

Oh no, more craziness, ruining other teams cap but trading cap from the Canucks but not expecting any back.
Boesner and his lack of controllable years, and maybe even his play isn't worth a top 7 pick.
More LTIR craziness thinking Ferland (and Poolman) helps Buffalo

I intentionally traded with the intention of not ruining other team's cap situations,
I should have put it in the main post but I mentionend in comments that it would be more plausable if they attached a contract to boeser for 6.5x6
more symbolic of LTIRetirement and could literally be sent anywhere.

I was thinking of a Demko to NJ trade. Repeat of 2013, Demko for Devils 1st. If that is the case, Devils look really good on paper. Hughes, Hischier, Bratt, Mercer, Holtz, Sharangovich in the top 6. Hamilton, Severson, Siegnthaler, Graves in the top 4, and Demko in net. With the Islanders, Penguins, Capitals all headed toward decline (old age), Islanders being the oldest team in the league, and the Penguins/Capitals stars all headed to their late 30s. It isn't impossible for the Devils to make playoffs next year but you're right 2023-24 would seem to be more realistic (Luke Hughes, Shakir Mukhamudullin, and Arseni Gritsyuk would all make the team)

Demko is better than Schneider though, it would be like demko for 1st, 2nd, prospect, or just straight up no move at all

See but I think that the canucks wouldnt take anything less than a 1st for boeser, I get that the 2nd will be a high 2nd but It isnt going to be a high pick like they would get with the OEL trade

I really dont see a fit anymore tbh. Early on it seem possible, now I'd rather try and move him for a defender

    This is much more plausible.
Kind of like the trade the Sharks were talking with Devils last year.

(I think Sharks wanted Eklund at #4 and Devils though Hughes would be gone by #4...so turned out well for both I guess)

I would say that a more fair trade would be boeser and Van 2022 1st for NJD 1st

See I think if that were the case it would be nucks 1st, boeser, for devs 1st, devs 2nd/ other equal value asset.

Nucks wont be that much higher than the nucks who will probably draft around 14th and moving up 10 spots would be about a 2nd and 3rd (more than dallas and Detroit 23-15, 1st, 2nd, 5th)
Boeser is worth more than a 2nd and 3rd

Really depends where these picks end up.
Devils could end up at #1, Canucks could end up as #32.

I think if Devils stay in top-4, I don't think they move out.

Uh that's some false equivancy. 23-15 is much different than 14 to 4.
You are talking about a loaded draft. I wouldn't be surprised if it cost more than just boeser to get into the top 10.
