I think thats a good trade for toews. Too much for kane.

I don't see Toews in Edmonton, The Kane deal looks fine. Leddy turned down a 3 year deal to stay in Detroit he wants 4 years so he's not taking 2 years to come back to Chicago. And Palat isn't going to sign with a team that's knowingly heading towards a rebuild.

TJ is done, The dude just can't stay healthy anymore.

TJ's health has certainly been an issue though he's now had the major surgery. He's not viewed as a key component in the rebuild but a good guy to have around the squad and a guy who's got winning experience is always helpful.

That being said, the Toews deal isn't a good move for CHI. Could likely get a 2nd + elsewhere without taking the cap dump in return.

The Kane deal actually has merit and value. There is a chance that he moves to go for another cup and with bread man thats a good situation to be in.

If that's the return, toews will finish out the last year of his deal in chicago. Should cost a 2nd just to dump kassian.
