Dumping $10M in cap and getting some pieces back while not giving up a first. Is it that bad?

I kind of wonder what the market is going to be for chiarot, and gudbranson types, Bryson and Jensen kind of the same dman. Would be kind of interesting if they splurge for a klingberg or where they feel the build is? Probably just buy a vet to backup the kid tender. Would be nice to find another tuch for top 6 to offset the slight krebs. Nice squad coming.

It's well over the actual amount of cap space they need to move to be compliant and Martinez is a very good value contract

I have to agree that the Sabres need to acquire some size in the forward ranks...maybe someone like Crouse.

This draft and a bunch of cap for next couple off seasons could be rather interesting, some guys looking for dough might be limited on teams, so Buffalo might be right there to snap them up. As long as they get them right and save enough dough for the kids.

Well for next year they have 19 contracts signed and a little over a mill in space. There gonna have to move a bit of money out, just depends how much they want to.

I like Crouse, be perfect add some grit and can pop 15 to 20 goals for you.

hence my point, I highly doubt they need to move 10M. Brossoit and one of their 4-5M deals should be sufficient

Sure, but that's gonna get your RFA's signed. And agree just really depends what they want to add.

They won't need to add to move Martinez, and Brossoit is pretty cheap in general he won't cost a lot to move

Agree, but they only have certain contracts they can dump. They have a lot of clauses written into a bunch of contracts.

The only thing I don't like is this goalies, I think you can find better options than Brossoit.

I wouldn't. You are retaining 10 million dollars over 2 years and 2 retention spots and not getting a first back. Let another team be the Walmart for cap space, try Arizona, seems to be working for them. Cap space is like any other market, when supply shortens up, demand (and cost) goes up. Don't give it away just because other teams have become accustomed to dumping contracts for practically free.
