Well if they have Craig in net idk it could go either way

But yeah Mathews and Marner have been on a tear rn

My only question is why now. They got 9 games left (after tonight)

Should have signed him to a future deal that starts in 2022-2023 season as burning a year just makes no sense

He hasn’t been playing for about half a year now, safe to say his career is over.

Then again playing for Bowness is depressing on it’s own.

Do they burn a year if he only plays 9 games? Doesnt that = ELC slide?

I dont know as I remember in 2020 they changed it but I dont know if they want back to the original format will need to check

No that only applies when you’re 18 or 19 in Sept. of the year you signed the ELC. So the first year for Power is automatically burnt even if he was to play in the AHL.

No #1 overall pick is signing a PTO for year 1. This is common practice for first rounders.

No but burning a year of his ELC for 8 games aint a good idea.

First rounders usually sign right after the draft not with 9 games left lul.

I would have just signed him in the summer.

I think its cause a year of his ELC is gonna be burned thats why people voted no

But if he was signed in the summer they would get that extra year.

Not that I blame Eichel for wanting out. But Eichel kinda did to himself by signing a an eight year extension with a bad organization. IMO the Sabres have turned the corner and might be considered a place to play very soon....prospects and cap space.
Heck Jersey was a place no one wanted to play, but they are turning the corner too.
