Not a terrible offer for jp but oilers would decline because jp improves the team more in the immediate future.

My logic for why Edmonton would make this deal would be to clear enough cap to re-sign kane while adding a skilled middle-six winger on an ELC

I'm not interested in trading Tomasino at all.

Not opposed to trading Kunin or Myers, but I don't like either of those deals for NSH.

Also don't see why NSH would actually be paying FLA for Hornqvist -- I'm not opposed to adding him for 1 year since they have the cap space, but only if NSH is getting compensated.

I don't see a Gudbranson reunion happening -- don't see the need for Bjugstad or Koskinen (Ingram should be the backup next season).

Perron is interesting and someone who I think Hynes would like, but I don't love giving a 34-year old Perron a 4-year contract... and not sure he jumps from STL to NSH either.

edit: here's my crack at it https://www.capfriendly.com/forums/thread/574789

Del Zotto is fine, Ottawa will have no problem running out the clock with him for another year, if they aren't able to trade him outright

Myers as a 6-5 RD that could be used in emergency's and to add grit to the last pairing would be something that I would take over Del Zotto. I also like the fact that Myers is still relatively young.

I don’t know. Devils probably consider it.

I don't really have an opinion on the NJD trade. In my opinion, the oilers would be silly not to take that. Tomasino is scoring at a .43 ppg pace on a fourth line (before the past two games) consisting of Mccarron and Cousins/Luff. Puljujarvi is scoring at a .57 ppg pace playing with Draisaitl and/or Mcdavid. Not to mention he averages almost 5 minutes more per game than Tomasino.
