Description
This is only if the Predators try and make a run. Go big or go home baby. Looking at the Boeser trade the 2024 second should probably be a 2023 first.

I don't see VAN trading Boeser for that little in return.

Vancouver counters with Justin Bailey (NHL ready forward), Juho Lammiko (prospect) and a few late picks for Jeannot

I knew that return for Boeser was a little optimistic, but the only reason I have to justify it is that I didn't want to give up Fabbro and viewed Myers and a second as equal value. That 2024 second could be a 2023 first

Canucks would probably need Fabbro in a trade for Boeser

I was thinking that, but really really didn't want to give him up, but there definitely are players out there that can replace Fabbro

Personally, I don't think Myers and a 2nd are close in value to Fabbro.

I think Fabbro is a non-starter for NSH. They don't have the surplus of top four prospects they used to. Should have come calling back when Poile was trading away Sam Girards and Seth Joneses with reckless abandon.

Ah yes, the classic I think it's a bad proposal, so here's an even more ludicrous one to counter. Never change, cap friendly.

It is a horrible proposal. Put yourself in Vancouver's shoes. Would you trade your top line goal scorer for a a minor league defenceman, a meh prospect and a few meh picks? Cmon now.

Never change, cap friendly.

If the Canucks wanted Myers, they would have picked him up on waivers. He’s not a good player. None of those picks or prospects are good either. Not a good offer

If Fabbro is a non starter then I’m not sure there’s a deal to be made tbh. Not sure what else the Canucks would be interested in (although I will say I’m not overly familiar with Nashville’s prospect pool)

I agree it's not a good proposal at all, and said so at the start of the thread. A 2nd, a very solid prospect who's gone up in value since being drafted, and some meh stuff isn't near enough for Boeser.

I'd be more curious to hear what you think would be a fair return from NSH if VAN were to trade Boeser, instead of a hyperbolic counter offer of 26 yr old minor leaguers you want to pass off as prospects and NHL ready (for comedic effect?), for a rookie who's outperforming Boeser at a fraction of the cost. You do you, but I don't feel it adds anything to the discussion.

At least it's more interesting than the usual VAN-NSH proposals on here. Usually it's mostly just Myers to the Nucks, for one of VAN's even worse contracts in return (Dickenson, Tyler Myers, Pearson, etc).

TBH, I'm not a huge fan of trading for Boeser. Re-signing Forsberg should be NSH's first priority. If that doesn't happen, I'd rather sign a stop-gap UFA replacement for a year or two (say, Giroux maybe) than spend the assets for someone like Boeser.

NSH's prospect pool is deepest in wingers right now, from both a quality and quantity perspective. Between Tomasino, Tolvanen, Jeannot, Evangelista, L'Heureux, Afanasyev, Kunin, they should have enough to fill out a top six, for the next while. It's RD where NSH doesn't have much. Fabbro and Carrier are big parts of the future, but there's not a lot coming up behind them. With Myers presumably gone next season, they don't have any young RDs left in the AHL. Prokop and Ufko look like solid prospects, but they're both years away from competing for an NHL job.

Just looking through my old ACGMs, and thought this might be a fun comment to reply to. How are you liking Kunin, even with his small sample size this year

Lol absolutely hate the move... he's just a bad player who does indeed compete, I'll give him that, but he's not good whatsoever.

And the fact that Grier gave up a 3rd was asinine. He's had a pretty mediocre at best and straight up bad track record so far as a GM, and the 3rd for Kunin deal (including the contract price) is easily the worst imo.
