Jackets decline. We’d be acquiring Miller to play with laine.

I might be crazy but I’d move Laine if we could bring in Miller long term. Miller is a better more complete player than Laine is imo. Laine has the shot and is a decent passer, but he doesn’t drive play and he floats defensively. Miller carry’s the play and is engaged defensively and has put up 85 points this season in 71 games, not to mention Miller is a 1c we’ve desperately needed. A top line of Johnson, Miller and Bjorkstrand would be pretty awesome.

Yes. However if laine doesn’t want to be here Miller isn’t enough by himself to push us into a playoff contender. So we’d be trading laine for futures.

While I hope your right, the jackets without laine are gonna be in a goal scoring trouble again. The team was on fire when laine was going and while he’s not firing at all cylinders he’s still been a great impact on offense with his playmaking. If we need to move on from him, a futures centric return is what we’d be looking for. Miller would be awesome but not at the cost of laine.

Pens can't afford Boeser. The money saved from trading Marino would have to be spent replacing him.
