You forgot to sign Kapanen after trading for him. And if we move Myers I think it would be worth it to retain on Miller to get the best return possible. Also with the amount of cap space available it gives us the flexibility to either go after a big free agent or take on cap dumps for assets. All in all I like it, but wonder if we’d be able to get more for Miller (although I am very high on Liljegren)

    Thanks, I forgot about that
I do agree that Lilijegren looks pretty good, I am not super high on anything else that the TML's have, I think that we should take the best offer, and I think that the media and social pressure in toronto will get the biggest package.

Yeah I agree we should take the best package for Miller. Ideally a package with a good young RHD, and if we can’t get Schneider (which it seems that he’s 100% untouchable), Liljegren is a great target

The Jackets are not interested in either of those players. Miller on the hand, we would. Plus, if you were to send those players in a trade you would have to give up some draft picks to get any team to take those guys, which would be counter productive to what the Canucks need.

LTIR does in fact matter, you still have to pay the player the money owed to him, it just doesn’t effect your cap hit.

That being said Myers is 11 mil over 2 years and Ferland is 2.75 for one. So it’s about an extra 13 mil over 2 years for Columbus to spend, for a guy who’ll never play and a bottom 4 defenseman.

What do you think the Jackets would be willing to give up for Miller?

it was less of a target towards giving it specifically to CBJ and more of a moving out his money so another team could use it as LTIR or could use it to get to the floor

Pens decline. They're going to need to shed a couple contracts this off season so they wont be looking to bring one back for Kapanens RFA rights. Just a low pick would be accepted. $3mil for Rodrigues is also an overpay. Could probably get him for half that.
