I don’t see the Wild needing to include that 2nd in this scenario.

Poor Matt Dumba…he just got to enjoy a season without the craphead cancer, Ryan Suter on his team and now your trading him to Dallas…

What was wrong with Suter?

This team will need to drop some serious money the following year for those buyouts as well ….

was Suter a bad guy? Genuine question, don't know much about him

He was not a bad guy. Just became slower at some point (age related). And given the fact that Dumba is not great defensively, this backfired. Now when he has a true two way D with great defensive skills like Borodin, he starts to bounce back.

He most certainly was a bad guy! All you have to do is listen to every single interview where team chemistry and closeness is brought up and it’s very easy to read between the lines. The tyrannical trio, as I often referred to them (Suter, Parise, and Koivu) ran the team and had more power than anyone but the owner. Suffice it to say the Wild were never going to be winners with that leadership group!

Also, if you still think Dumba isn’t very good defensively, you either don’t watch the games, or know nothing about playing defense…
