Instead of overpaying Oettinger and giving up a 1st and giving a 3rd, why not just pay Kuemper 6-6.5mil x 5 and keep your draft picks?

Well, yeah, but that is for real life.
This ACGM was intended to be less probable.

For $6mil Rust will stay in Pittsburgh. Would be a tough second line to play against if that happened though.

i have a hard time believing kuemper does not come back to the avs. i think sakic learn3d his lesson after letting grubauer walk. (even though grubauer is struggling right now., but who isnt on seattle.)

Not suggesting he would leave, just used kuemper as an example of a G you can get for similar cap hit without giving up the picks.
Until Kuemper has put pen to paper, theres no guarantee COL has their G next season

In real life, I think there will be goaltending available. And best option could still be Blackwood.

The words "best available" and "Blackwood" should never be uttered in the same sentence my friend

He has all the talent and ability to be an elite goalie. It’s just that his head isn’t screwed on right.

I would say it doesn’t look promising for him in NJ. But if he can someone get himself in track, and healthy, he could be top-10 G

Unfortunately the best performing goalies in the league all have their heads screwed in lol.

Top 10 is a stretch considering these goalies dont appear to be retiring anytime soon:
    Markstrom
    Saros
    Vasilevskiy
    Shesterkin
    Andersen
    Kuemper
    Demko
    Hellebuyck
    Sorokin

Then the up and comers like:
    Husso
    Jarry
    Knight
    Oettinger
