Personally I think Detroit would rather keep Zadina and just send a third for Pettersson.

Probably, but Pittsburgh need youth with potential. I don’t know if detroit would accept, but they want Petey and they could add a condition on the second like if they make it to the ECF it turns to a first but he has a lot of upside so I wouldn’t mind

We just do not have a need for Zadina. I don't hate the idea but just dump MP's cap and move along. Geno under 7 million would be ideal but my guess is he still ends up around 7.25 million. Tanger at 8 million is right but I think it is a 3-4 year deal. ERod will get more than that even though he has slowed down. Rakell has been an awesome addition but I cant only see us paying him if Rust doe snot resign

Not ready to give up on Zadina yet. He almost seems cursed and one has to wonder if Blashil has stunted his growth.

I see that but I think he will get 6.5-7 and Erod probably will get about 1.75.

Let's see what Zadina can do playing with Vrana next season. I think there's some strong chemistry there.

Would be tempting but I don't think pens are in a position to trade away firsts. I also think it would depend where they finish in the standings. That said I still don't want to give up on Zadina.

Detroit's not dealing Zadina for Pettersson, With a new coach Zadina should do fine. Pettersson for a 3rd rounder is fine.

Exactly! Blashil puts him on lines with grinders and muckers.

Keep him on the 2nd line with Suter and Vrana for next season. If he's still struggling. Then maybe we might look to deal him. but for now i'd hold onto him.
