i would go after kuemper but i think he will resign in COL before we get a chance.

other numbers i dont mind. think kane is a bit low.

and i would look for a diffferent RD the pysyk so one that is a big body and adds grit for that spot.

Stars easily decline, no one is paying the Oilers for a cap dump. I expect the Oilers will have to throw in a 2nd and a 3rd to get rid of Barrie

I would love jani hakanpaa back for barrie but I think edmonton has markus niemeleinen for grit on the left side once keith is gone I can't see pairing 2 big bodies with grit with each other in 23-24

Barrie is not negative value. He would be a low cost replacement for klingberg.

you wouldnt pair with each other you would have 1 with bouchard the other with broberg.

then in shutdown situation you would play both together

I think in 22-23 broberg is 3rd pairing and 23-24 broberg is second pairing with bouchard. Niemeleinen is then your 3LD.

above 4 million kane prices himself out of the oilers lineup. They would have to keep smith as a goalie or something.

I wouldnt play Bouchard and broberg together both have defensive gaps in their play (might inprove as they grow but not yet) I would play niemo with Bouchard and a RD with defense and grit with BRoberg.

This allows both to use their skating and playmaking while having someone that thinks defense first. look a barrie. he has been a different player since kulak has been his partner he is not second guessing jumping up or offensive plays cus he knows kulak is there to back him up.

I agree Im justing think from kanes perspective bankruptcy and everything hes over 30 gotta make hay again last chances to get a big contract.
SJ appeal process might play into this if he still gets his contract paid out from SJ maybe he takes less in EDM....

Some pretty optimistic returns for barrie and Foegele

Career high 30 point scorer netting a 2nd? And I. Like many outside of Edmonton, keep point out barrie is a cap dump. I think oilers fans need to start realizing their not right, while everyone else is wrong.

I'm not opposed to the price of Barrie here, but his cap is making this deal almost impossible for us. We need to shed some cap to make it work. In other words we'd need EDM to take Faksa in to make this work.

Both Kane and kuemper will be looking for more money. Kuemper will get it. I think Kane will too, on a short term contract.

I would say Kuemper is on par with the markstrom contract 6x6. He is 2 years older than when markstrom signed that though so maybe like 6 Million x 5

Oilers could probably use a Faksa type center in their bottom six.
