Letang is resigning in Pitty. And if he doesnt he wont sign in Montreal, he will want to go somewhere he can possibly win another cup before he retires.

I think they are all the same people that said that Lehkonen wasn't going to get them a first or that Chiarot couldn't get a first. I would ignore them.

So the pens take on the vastly lesser Petry for Letang, Nylander, and 2nd round pick? Keep dreaming! Pens just don’t do this trade and re-sign Letang for that price.

But that’s not true. Letang wants to come back and is willing to take a discount in exchange for term. The pens have said they’d be willing to give him a raise for just a 2 or 3 year contract so the pens would gladly pay him 7.5 for 3 years, heck they probably would go to 8-8.5 for 3 years over Petry. And you’re not giving us anything. We’d be paying for it and we could just get the better Klingberg without giving up prospects and picks in free agency.
