The Jets aren't giving DeMelo away for nothing.

I imagine the Ducks would want at least Broberg or Holloway in any Gibson trade

Kassian is a better face puncher, but he's more than twice the cap hit and has an extra year. Not equal at all, Ottawa would be better just running out the clock with Watson. He'll be a good mentor for Kelly and Kastelic, who are going to hold that type of 4th line role for the Sens in the future. If Kassian was at 50% retained or Ottawa was getting like a 2nd I'd consider that swap, but straight up Ottawa is giving up flexibility for no meaningful on ice improvement

EDM
Watson, Austin
OTT
Kassian, Zack

Kassian is a dump, for two seasons, EDM needs to add to get rid of Kassian before even considering what they give to get Watson

Good RHD's have more value than complimentary wingers IMO.

Demelo is 28, at about the age where players start to regress heavily. Yamamoto is only 23 and already a solid top 6 forward.

Not to mention Demelo is a UFA in 2 years, while Yamamoto is an RFA and could be kept around long term.

Not saying demelo is bad, he's probably slightly better than yamamoto right now, but in terms of trade value and longevity it's not that close

Buffalo isn't doing that. A 3rd/4th line center and a 2nd? We have enough of both those items

Watson > Kassian

If Edmonton wants to add picks then I’m open to it but given their contracts the trade would be nowhere near 1 for 1.
