Jersey is rebuilding too. They aren't trading a lottery pick for one year of Bertuzzi.

Detroit passes, Bertuzzi isn't for sale. Yzerman already said he plans on resigning him and Larkin this coming summer.

I certainly hope we get more than a 1st for bertuzzi. Jersey would be lucky to get him for that.

If Beruzzi gets moved it's not going to be for one year, It will be similar to the Seth Jones sign and trade where we get better assets.

It wouldn't be for one year, Yzerman will want to maximize his return on Tyler Bertuzzi. So you're looking at a similar deal as the Seth Jones and Hampus Lindholm trades where they can sign Tyler for 8 years at a reasonable cost say in the $6,500,000 similar to Lindholm.

There is big difference between the Lindhom and Jones deals. Lindholm was a couple months away from being a UFA on a non playoff team. His price as he had neogitatiated with the Ducks during the season , so it was somewhat an easy trade
It's a lot different for Yzerman to tell Bertuzzi...."We want your ass outta here, so hurry up and sign an extension with Jersey so we can trade you." So what happens when Bertuzzi refuses to sign with Jersey, you got a disgruntled player on your team who likely will not resign with the Wings. Funny you mentioned Jones....what a disastrous trade that was for the Hawks.. Jersey just doesn't give up assets to aquire a player rights. Besides Jersey may front runners to sign UFA Gaudreau in a year.
