Easy pass for the Leafs. Liljegren fills a big position of need for them going forward and they have lots of wingers coming up who might turn into what Nils Hoglander has provided so far.

I would think Buffalo stays away from this. I think they value the youth movement too much. Plus they have no viable RHD youth on the team outside of joki.

That Dallas trade is ridiculous, you are taking on a bad contract but you are sending Myers which is a way worse contract

Sabres would reject that pretty easily I would think.

I'd say no to the BOS trade. the value seems right but Lysell should be pretty much untouchable and I don't like the idea of having 2 years without a first in a row. Miller would be nice but Haula and Coyle have been more than good enough when called on for 2C.

If Vancouver gets a second for taking Faksa, what does Dallas get for taking Myers and Dickie? Or is Vancouver retaining 50% on both of them?

Stars are gonna laugh that trade out of the room. Faksa only makes $600K more than Dickinson, and even though both are having disappointing seasons, he's outscoring him by double (16 pts in 68 GP vs. 8 pts in 54 GP). If anything, I'd call it a mostly equal swap - Faksa has been the better player but also has an extra year of term. Those two dudes are basically change of scenery guys for both teams.

That leaves the rest of the trade as Dallas giving up a 2nd for Tyler Myers and a 4th. Tyler Myers is 32, has an NTC, and has 2 more years left at $6M. While he's not a straight up cap dump, he's really been just average this season - his only real strong possession numbers come when he plays on a pair with Quinn Hughes (which, duh.) He doesn't really drive play well enough on his own to be worth $6M, especially for what you have to assume are his decline years. Dallas would be better off keeping their 2nd rounder and taking that $6M, adding $2M on top of it, and re-sign Klingberg. I can't see them spending big at that spot otherwise.

So tired of this… if Klinger leaves Dallas needs a RHD. Yes that’s true but that doesn’t magically mean Dallas will take a bad contract like Myers or Petry
