Habs pass. Not giving up assets to help you make space for Johnny and Tkachuk

Nothing enticing there that the Jets would consider moving Scheifele for.

Moving Backlund is a mistake, While I would sell the farm (besides Wolf) for Scheifele I would give them Monahan to make the cap work, then move Lucic

I second this.

Backlund gets Selke votes every year, and is a fine player, but he's like 36, and at most has three seasons left, so I'm not sure about including him. This isn't the worst offer for Scheifele I've seen, but I don't see the fit.

Backlund fits Darryl's system too well to move. He is an ideal 3C for a contender. I would much rather have him center a 3rd line with Coleman and Pelletier. Replace Backs with Monahan, upgrade to a 2023 1st and its a decent offer for Scheifele.

#1) Less than zero chance WPG takes Monahan back in a Scheifele trade
#2) Jets Decline the OP

Jets need RHD and RHW… you want us to trade a 1C, 70+ point, RHC for… an LHD, which we absolutely don’t need, a young C, which we have in abundance, a mid to late 1st, and a cap dump… Definitely not a decent offer

Definitely not a decent offer.. upgrading the pick doesn’t offset adding Monahan

How does that make any sense? The value you are getting here is not in Monahan, it's in the picks/prospects. Monahan is involved to make the cap work. If Winnipeg wants to retool/rebuild then you acquire futures and if you have to take on a short term contract that you can potentially flip at the deadline

Not rebuilding.. retooling, and if we are taking on prospects, they should at least be what we need, not what works for you… also, no one is taking Monahan, so flipping him is not even an option. If he was moveable, you’d have moved him already.
Monahan is a zero option, and the OP would be beat elsrwhere

I strongly agree with you here. Monahan is Calgary's problem, no chance the Jets want any part of him. Calgary's cap issues are their problem and the Jets aren't helping them with it in a Scheifele trade.

Let Calgary flip Monahan on their own if it's so easy.

What works for me? How does that make sense when I never proposed a trade? Also you are just flat out wrong if you think "no one is taking on Monahan." It's already been reported that there is a lot of interest in him. To me your argument is borderline childish complaining

By you I meant the Flames…obviously
If there’s a lot of interest in him, he’d have been moved at the TDL.

That makes no sense, Calgary is a contender, why would they move him at the deadline? Furthermore it's insiders reporting the lots of interest, so im going to take their word long before yours.

If Tampa could move Johnson Calgary can easily make cap space this summer

No team is going to pay to take on the last year of Monahan’s contract.
