Habs don't need to trade Hoffman this summer, no kids are ready to take his spot. Unless they draft Slafkovsky.

Same for Armia, don't trade him unless you need his roster spot or cap money. Roy is not NHL ready yet.

No kids can be as bad as Hoffman, you are right. Maybe we should bring Dwight King back to make competition with Hoffman for who has been the worse Habs

There's something to be said for addition by subtraction. Some of the Rocket players like RHP & Ylonen have earned a shot with the big club through their consistently excellent play.

Armia's lack of commitment bugs me and he should be benched to make room for someone who will actually do more with less than half of the skill Armia's got.
Hoffman's alright, and I'd be open to keeping him, but I wonder if Roy looks so good at rookie/training camp that they give him a cup of coffee and see what he's got. If he was born a few weeks later he'd be a top 5 pick in this year's draft.

I noticed you omitted any criticism of my Drouin Buyout. Liked that one did you?

Stars don't have room for salary dumps, especially when it comes in $10M+. You can keep them.

Ylonen can play on 3rd line if Armia play on 4th. I doubt any other forward can make the jump to the NHL next year, but if any prove me wrong, just trade Hoffman. I really don't mind trading him, but we can't just trade them all in one summer. He's a decent top 9, i don't mind keeping him for now.

Buy Drouin or Byron out if we need the money to bring a good UFA this summer, otherwise keep them until their contract ends.

As of Petry's trade, too much have been said. Value is all over the place. Let's see when it happens.

Buying out Drouin is just extending his cap impact into next season. Retain half and move him at the deadline or let him walk to free agency. We don't need to spend extra money this year.

Totally meant for Armia to be traded to Columbus... thanks for the comment I changed it.

I still think Petry winds up in Dallas as a short term replacement for Klingberg.

I don't see it. If he wants to get closer to his family in Michigan then waiving for Texas doesn't make much sense - the distance is further than it is from Montreal.

His wife's family is from Houston... so Dallas makes all the sense in the world.

I think it depends on where they live. I'm not sure where that is.
