What is the incentive for the islanders to make this trade? I’ve never heard of teams just giving away 22 YO top pair D for scraps

I don’t think Isles will ever do this. But let’s say for fun it was Pettersson instead of Boeser?

Dobson is going to cost way more than that. Boeser has 38 points this year and is due a *raise* from his $5.875M hit; Poolman is a 7th D who's signed for 3 more years at $2.5M, and Rathbone is already a year older than Dobson and hasn't come anywhere near his NHL success. Trying to confuse us by willingly taking all of Josh Bailey's contract isn't going to work this time!!

when you take into considerations Boeser's play this year and his QO along with Poolman in the deal, this trade is significantly tilted in the Canucks favor. This is a trade that helps the Canucks and screws the islanders, which is why it would never happen.

I would probably do that, Pettersson is a star, Boeser is a slightly above avg top 6 F.

Podkolzin is gonna be a stud for us in the future. He should be considered untouchable right now as there is 0 incentive to trade him

You’d have to add in Barzal lol. Petterssons is having a down year but he has 60 points and almost 30 goals. While I’d love Dobson on the team, I think there are other options than trading Petey for Dob

Dobson is a top pairing Dman tho and still super young. He’s worth a lot

Correct. Pettersson is a top line center and still super young. He’s worth even more. I think the Canucks can get a top 4 d man using Miller, Boeser, or Garland

Isles won’t move Dobson, and if they did it would probably be a better return. Canucks don’t touch the NYR trade

Obviously they would make that but VAN sure wouldn't
