From what I've heard Philly wants to add to their top 9 not remove one of them. and i think he gets a 1st Weisblatt and Dahlen and I'm not comfortable with dealing that much personally.
that's also a huge amount of dead money!

I'd bump it up by adding another 2nd, which I think gets it done since they'll be adding Johnny Gaudreau most likely too and Dahlen's roster space replaces Konecny in the top-9.

That's true about the dead money.. but I thought it through and I bite the bullet here personally on that. Dobby comes off the books after this season and Vlasic's buyout gets temporarily reduced for next year so there's ample money to resign Meier. Replace Reilly with an ELC for the year after that and deal out Barabanov and/or Konency to resign RFAs and replace them with Coe+Robins. I just think it's time to move on from Burns+Vlasic starting this offseason, and I know this is a super controversial take, but in terms of priority having factored in everything, I think moving Burns is more critical, but that's only assuming there's no way to move Vlasic other than throwing out a 1st or two (we shouldn't be doing that) or a buyout, which is a fair assumption too.

I thought it through here, over $5mil in dead cap space money opens up to resign Timo next offseason in this scenario.

True, still i want to keep Burns, he is still top 15 in scoring and if we can reduce his min next year to like 21 a night instead of 26+ he will be fresher and make less mistakes.
plus hes deal expires right as we would need to start paying the younger guys so it works to our advantage to keep him.
plus he sells tickets and the fan base is an issue.

Love it, honestly. We could make playoffs with this team if we move on from Boughner.

why the hate for bob? he was given a roster with 3 top 6 forwards and 3 top 4 D men and made it work. we were in the playoff hunt and over 500 for 1/2 the season before injuries derailed us. give him more talent and see what he is capable of.
