That habs trade is awful for them. Edmundson is really good, not too old, not super expensive. Olofsson does nothing for MTL

I think the caps will move Samsonov. I’m all for trading Olofsson

I think Steady Eddy is one of the only vets the Habs aren’t interested in moving, but I’m sure if Buffalo wants to bring in Luke Tuch that his rights are completely obtainable.

Luke Tuch can probably be had in another way.

I doubt the Habs are moving Edmundson who is a strong candidate for captaincy next season. I do like Olofsson and I'd probably consider this trade if the Habs didn't have that many middle-six bodies.

Tuch is just a throw in. Buffalo would easily accept a 3rd or 4th in his place

I wouldn't consider a top 5 goalie prospect and a 6/7 defenseman for a 1b goalie nothing

yeah a goalie drafted in 2019 that needs to sign by 8/2024.... "top 5 goalie prospect" he played for Michigan... the team that had what like 5 first round picks last draft? id be interested to see how he can transition into the NHL that being said Washington signed a kid out of college already and has Gibson... we are full of "potential goalies". We need a starter likke a true #1... unfortunately he does nothing for us. ALSO a 25 year old #6/7 d man doesnt nothing for use either.... if tyou want V V just send a 2nd

You cant have Tuch
The upside of Tuch-Mysak Line is just to high both Comedically and as a Prospect

To be fair the previous couple years WSH fans said the opposite
They gave up on Samsonov really quick to put over Vanacek who they gave up in the Expansion
Personally i think Vanacek has more value in WSH then Samsonov but that doesnt negate his value
Samsonov in TBL for example solves a lot of problems and they can keep Elliotte in the AHL as insurance
He could be a good tandem goalie cheap behind Vasilevsky and mature into the player he was expected to by WSH fans

No upside to letting Vanacek go again to keep Samsonov when you'll just be back in a year to acquire Vanacek at a loss again lol

I would much rather just pay a second rd pick than what I proposed. If that is all it takes then done deal. I would have anticipated the Caps would have wanted greater value for this player
