Sending Blackwood to DC sounds like a truly horrible idea based upon his uh, views. 😏

Yes to the rest though even though the other teams are winning the trades getting better players 😉

Calgary declines, I'll pass on the Pittsburgh trade.

Would do the Vanecek deal.

Yeah so, in the event you can't extend him, what does a trade look like?

We would want a 1st. 30 goal scores don't appear on the market to much

So, while I'm sure you would want that (and he's worth that normally), this is a situation in which you have less leverage right?. what about a 23' 2nd that turns into a first if the Devils make the playoffs+Gritsyuk?

And while I do agree re: 30 goals, he's only done that once. I think he does it again and is valuable but, yeah.

Okay, why? His underlying/fancies are fantastic and he might come at less-than-market-price due to Calgary's cap situation. What is scaring you off?

I like the guys targeted in the trades.

Mangiapane is a good shout for a "we can't extend him" situation but my feeling is that Calgary have more room to maneuver than Wild or Canucks and thus would have to send more value back to them.
But given the heat one usually gets from trading for someone like Fiala in AGM I don't blame you for targeting someone else haha.

I'm a fan of Vancek's game but would prefer to leave Blackwood out of the deal, seems like an overpayment to me and Zacha is expendable anyways.
I think it would do wonders for Blackwood if he worked in tandem with someone you actually could rely on to either split the net with or actually outright win the starterspot from him.
In any case, I really don't want Blackwood traded unless absolutely necessary.

Petterson should be fine to replace Graves but signing Lagesson for the second pair doesn't sit right with me.
Even though he had decent possession metrics with the Oilers he was just batched into that Kulak trade.
Might be wishful thinking on my part but I'd hope that one of Bahl or Walsh would be ready for a full-time NHL job by 22-23.

I like Mangiapane and Pettersson. Not sure at those prices.

Lagesson gets $3 million?

Flames decline the Mangipane trade (Devils accept)
Devils decline the Capitals trade
Pettersson-Wood trade seems unnecessary with the term Pettersson has

You are vastly overblowing Calgary's cap situation

Am I? Isn’t JG and Tkachuk at least 18M? I’m sure you’re more likely to get out of Lucic or Monahan than trade Mangiapane but I don’t think I’m misreading this situation if not

Neither is hard to move. Calgary's offseason is childs play to what Vegas, Toronto, and Tampa went through recently

Yeah it’s not at that level but I feel like it may be harder than you think? Especially Lucic

Though I do think this is the least likely of the cap winger trades

Lucic has a modified no trade clause and is only owed 1M. His contract would be very attractive to quite a lot of teams

Yeah but that makes it easier for him if he doesn’t wanna leave, no?

How so? He can't block every team and has already waived twice on this contract
