I thought Sens fans were hoping Giroux would come back home to finish his career? He'd be a hell of a lot cheaper than Kane and can play both C and W. Seems like a better option to me. Also, I bet Forsberg wants both more money and term if he's going to Canada with that tax rate. Give him 9x7 then sign Giroux instead of trading for Kane. Even then, though, I'm not sure that bottom six and D are good enough to "easily" make the playoffs in the East.

Giroux is really good second option, Kane still can be dominant player on a top six for years to come, sign and trade deal with the Sens is not option...

D core Sanderson is NHL Ready! D core is strong moving puck assets which makes this team so existing to watch. I agree that it s not a full strong Defensives core.

Forsberg Given the NHL cap space just can see a team given more to him. Nonetheless Sen could Bonify the offer.

Forsberg and Kane? Yeah every Sens fan would love to see this happen. This offense would be insane

Stutzle and Kane would be unstoppable

But I can't see Chicago doing this when they could get more futures from another team

a 2024 first and Brannstrom

Murray most likely LTIRed
White good 3rd liner but 1.25-1.5 overpaid

I think Ottawa’s gonna be the most overrated team next season and I’d be shocked to see them actually make playoffs. The group they have always seems to crumble when the games matter, then they start winning when they’re already out of the playoff picture. That doesn’t scream a playoff ready team. I’d give it another couple seasons before they’re in contention

A first and Brannstrom very well could be the asking price to dump Murray and Brannstrom at this point in time. Murray costs at least a first to dump, and White certainly doesn’t have positive value at the moment. There is probably a bit positive value here going to the Hawks; but not much, and far from enough to get Kane

It will be hard to make the playoffs next season as the Atlantic is going to be damn good again. Their best chance would be a wild card spot if a team like Pittsburgh, Washington and/or Boston finally decline.

And it's not that they "crumble" when games matters, it's just that they have by far the worst GM in hockey and it takes a while to repair his mistakes. The guy had Josh Brown, Chris Tierney and Nikita Zaitsev as regulars on his team. The team had poor depht to start the season and were done as soon as there was injuries, and then covid (before the NHL suspended games)

Have to see what is going to happen with ownership first. Things could change a lot in the near future

Matt Murray is not a dump at the moment though, he is most likely LTIR for the 2 years left. They don't need to move his contract

I'd be very surprised if doctors clear him for contact again. It happened to Anders Nilsson very recently

Guys, They are coming sooner then later! Its a young team and its normal they are missing consistency. adding experience players that can help is what s needed for them to turn things around. They are ready for it!

In the situation Murray does go on LTIR than the contract won’t cost that to dump, but I haven’t heard anything yet about him more or less retiring

He has had 4-5 concussions already. I'd be very surprised if he gets cleared for contact again

It now seems that every time someone is near his head, he has a concussion

Hope I'm wrong but his health is the most important thing in the end. He has a family. Plus he already won twice and made millions
