Ah yes, 4 A level future assets (1 of which is likely to play top 4 minutes next year and another who is a good bet to make the team) for a goalie who has posted extremely mid results the last 3/4 seasons.

If we are gonna go big on a goalie, I’d much much rather get Darcy Kuemper. If Kuemper is resigned, then keep Campbell and find a 1B (Mrazek was supposed to be the 1B but hasn’t worked out, although we can give him another shot next year for the first bit of the season. He has it in him to be a good goalie)

A young NHL d man who has posted extremely solid results (an absolute amazing xGF farmer. His analytics suggest a very similar start to his career of that of Shea Theadore, and his play style matches that as well) I would 100% consider A level. Robertson is an A level piece IF HEALTHY. If he isn’t healthy that hurts the value a lot obviously. Knies was one of the better NCAA players in his DY+1 season and was dominant in transition, plus is a big body. Toronto wanted to sign him this year because they said they thought he was NHL ready already, which is very rare for someone so young

I agree. Especially with the ability to re-sign Campbell to a reasonable contract and with the goaltending situation finally showing some younger depth and competence.

I was going to post what Lambchopz stated regarding the mediocre stats Gibson has had for a few years now. People are remembering him from the past.

Well I guess that's a good point. I was seeing an A level piece as a player who not only makes the NHL but will contribute. I rate prospects with 6 levels in my head as:

Franchise,
Star,
A level (can contribute middle 6, 2nd pair, 1B goalie),
B level (can contribute bottom 6, 2nd/3rd pair, backup goalie),
C level (4th line, 3rd pair, AHL's 1A goalie),
D Level (borderline NHL and probably won't make it)

Both are the same age pretty much (Robertson was drafted the year prior, but the age gap is only 8 days). Robertson’s age 17 season was better and his age 18 season was too, the only difference was this age 17 season for Quinn wasn’t his draft year because he was born basically at the exact time where he couldn’t be draft eligible for the 2019 draft. Both have been extremely impressive in the AHL (NRob a PPG in the AHL this year, and Quinn has obviously been dominant this year) so far, but Quinn has been the better player this year (but this is pretty much the first time Quinn has been better in a season). Quinn is the better prospect in my opinion, especially when considering the player’s health, but Quinn isn’t far enough better to be considered an A+ prospect

For me, I go
A++ (basically a top 3 prospect from the draft)
A+ (more likely than not a legit star)
A (high end top 6F/top 4D/Starter)
B+ (likely a top 6 forward or top 4 d or starter)
B (middle 6 forward/high end 3rd line forward, 2nd pair d man or high end 3rd pair guy)
C (bottom 6er/bottom pair/backup goalie)

Ducks fan here-Would love to get that haul for Gibby, but that's an a bit too much of an overpay.

That being said, a) I can't imagine Anaheim trades him without an overpay (Obviously less than this), and b) I would be absolutely shocked if Toronto (and the other Canadian teams) weren't on his 10 team NTC.

Good lord. He's a top 3 prospect

Edit: now I see you have a bizarre system to justify giving these guys "A's"

Robertson is the only one that's questionable for A level status. Knies is a future top line power forward and Sandin will be a top 4 D for us as early as next year. Robertson isn't because of all the injury issues.

Jack Quinn being a top 3 prospect is quite the statement to make considering again, a guy like Nick Robertson compares to him pretty closely when we all know Nick Robertson should not be close to the top 3 prospects league wide. Quinn I would have closer to 10-15 range among prospects

Quinn is widely considered a top prospect and is dramatically outproducing Robertson. It isn't close

Did you even read the thing I wrote earlier? Robertson has outproduced him every year until this year. Being a top prospect doesn’t mean a top 3 prospect. There is nothing to justify Quinn being ranked over some prospects such as Power, Beniers, Sanderson, Byfield (if he’s counted as a prospect) and many more
