Kuemper bidding war starts at 6x6 from COL.

Also keep in mind income tax in COL is 4.5% whereas EDM is 15%.
Meaning EDM would have to offer 6x6.63mil to match a 6x6mil offer from COL.

PHI says no, Smiths age/contract/performance is iffy at best.

but overall I'm not seeing a massive improvement.

Assuming Kane wins money in his settlement he wont have to take the highest bid. It seems he loves playing in edmonton, his girlfriend has now moved to edmonton, and multiple reports are saying him and jesse puljujarvi are developing a close friendship. Very few contendors will have any more cap space than the oilers to sign players.

Keep in mind kane has not won a cup, he is in his early 30s and often players at this point prioritize winning over cash, especially if they get

Cap strapped teams next season.

Minnesota, Avalanche, Toronto, Calgary, Washington, Boston, Florida, Hurricanes, Tampa, St Louis, Rangers, Islanders. Vegas, Notice a pattern?

The only team that could really make a big offer that is somewhat of a playoff team is nashville or los angeles but neither is as juicy a option as being mcdavids winger for the next 3 yrs.

the bbiggesst thing that let thhis team down this year was iffy goaltending in december and january and poor 5v5 play.

Puljujarvi miniscule shooting percentage will no doubt regress to his career averages which will be big for goalscoring, bouchards game will continue to round out as he has been far more consistent as of late compared to the start/mid of the season, ryan mcleod should continue to grow.

Internal growth along with building chemistry and solid coaching and goaltending will make this team very competitive (it already is)

Contracts seem fair… wouldn’t be surprised if they try to get at least a 2 or 3 year deal for Yams.

Don’t understand moving Yams though… especially at the contract you have him signed to. If they manage to sign all those players you suggested and they need the cap space, a player like Foegele will be gone before Yams.. Yamamoto is better defensively, offensively, and you could argue physically some games…

Not really interested in helping Edmonton move out cap to help other areas of need. Most I’d give for Barrie is a third

Unfortunately for Dallas they need a replacement for Klingberg when he walks this offseason, Barrie is potential fit. Therefore, Dallas might pay more

so you figure a 3rd does it, lets make it a 3rd and a 6th and we can probably live with it.

barrie is not as awful as people make him out to be, he has defensive gaffes but he has removed most of the awful pinches from his game this yr and he is fantastic on the powerplay.

I don’t think there’s any way to rationalize that cost for Yamamoto. His play has shown he’s limited and his production reflects that. Could do a lot more with those two high 2nds.

Everybody assumes Dallas will over pay for guys like Barrie or just take a bad contract like Myers or Petry just because Klinger is leaving. It doesn’t work that way. Nill has his flaws but he isn’t gonna get bent over just cuz a free agent is walking

I’m not turning my nose up at him. It really comes down to demand. If there’s multiple teams after him I could absolutely see him getting a second. But not many teams can take his cap without sending some in return. Most of the teams that can won’t be contenders and I’d think they’d rather keep their picks. If that makes sense. I could be wrong. Time will tell
