Honestly, Its fan driven. For me, I was always great with Scheifele as our 1C. I think this year Dubois emerged as a true 1C though. He may not put up the points like Scheifele, but he plays a full 200' game. Scheifele lacks a lot in the back checking department. He is still a good player who puts up a point per game, but the fan base has soured on him. Unlikely the Jets trade him, because he has a great contract and is a great 2C option for the Jets and a true 1C on most teams.

Jackets decline if you take out half of that. That is a massive overpay.

CBJ reject. We don't need G or LD so this is pretty much just a huge overpay for Scheifele.

Too many pieces in the Columbus trade, that needs to be simplified. The Jets also shouldn't consider buying high on a 27 year old winger having a career year, by selling low on their PPG 1C.

Yeah probably too many pieces. Bjorkstrand is having the same year as he has for the past 3. I think he is your typical 60-65 pt player. These trades are all messed up. I think in this instance the Jets may be giving up too much and then the Jacket fans chim in and say that they are giving up to much.

what do you think if it was Schiefele for Texier, Danill and a 1st?

I just think you're targeting the wrong team. Scheifele is more valuable to a contending team.

For your last proposal here why on earth would the Jets have any interest in an injured goalie.? Texier might be okay, but doesn't look like he'll be anything more than a 3rd liner. So, that offer is pretty bad.

*I obviously hit the wrong Tarasov when I searched for him. I found an inactive winger. Lol

Can’t see Columbus moving Tarosov. Also adding Scheifele doesn’t really fit their time line, he comes in with 2 years and likely walks. Adding Scheifele doesn’t make Columbus an automatic cup contender he makes them better, but I wouldn’t put them above NY Ranger or Carolina in their division or above Florida, Tampa, or Toronto in the Atlantic, I’d say they would be on par with the Islanders, Boston, Pittsburgh, Washington and New Jersey (if they can figure out their goaltending) fighting for 3 playoff spots. Also Columbus has actually been a top 10 scoring team in the league this year, but they have also been bottom 5 in goals against this season (currently 2nd behind Arizona).

Ill elaborate a bit on the cbj trade.

The jackets arent going to be trading their best forward, a 22 year old right shot defenseman, a 24 year old goalie a top 6 pick and a young middle 6 forward for a 30 year old center who has 2 years left on his deal and has a rift with laine, the other pieces are of no consequence as we have ample replacements for those positions.

We are retooling and trying to be better in the future, not now. This trade makes no sense for the jackets to make even if we took out bjorkstrand and boqvist. Moving out these pieces for mark doesn't make us much better now than we would be by holding onto these players. It definitely doesn't open up a cup contender window. But we we draft and develop right, our window could open in 2 years from now.

Daniil is probably taking about Tarosov who is a 24 year old goalie, not some 30+ inactive wing.

My opinion with Scheif is that his decrease in play is a direct result of the stagnate coaching staff and being dragged down by Wheeler. Wheeler is getting away with poor and lazy playing and Scheif has picked up on that and see that. He sees the "captain" (by name only) dogging it out there and he is getting praised by coaching, management, ownership and Winnipeg media so why should he give it his all? he has his contract no reason in giving a **** since the organization doesn't give a ****. I compare this to the Vancouver Canucks situation. Being a BC resident I heard a lot of what happened out here. When Benning didn't even offer a contract to Toffoli the room gave up on the organization. You could see it in the beginning of the season. But then ownership made a change in management and coaching and now the Canucks are playing totally different since then. Even making a strong push for the playoffs. When people say that players don't care about the ownership or management its all garbage. The players need to know the organization wants to win and the Winnipeg Jets players haven't really seen that from the higher ups. But with Scheif I believe he can get back to the player he was a few seasons ago. Just needs a shake up.

He is an all offense player. When it comes to leagues top centers, he is probably the single worst one defensive wise. He also doesn't give a **** really plus there are some tensions in the Jets locker room including him
