I just don't see by Pittsburgh would move Jerry for one year of Fleury when he would be happy to be their back up.

Not to mention moving on Jarry who is better than Fleury...downgrading your goaltending from good to OK because it's a nice storyline seems like a bad decision.

theyh have lindberg who is a fantastic prospect and projects to be a yr or 2 out. i feel like next yr is a bit of a retool year for them.

I like that third line. I think Kuzmenko could be a stud!
I think you try and move Foegle to bring in enough cap space to try and sign Josh Manson as a UFA right shot D.

I don't know if I sign Puljujarvi for that much, but who knows, maybe he's worth it.

This makes no sense for Pittsburgh.

Not only is that a very terrible return, Pittsburgh isn't in any position to move Jarry, regardless of who the other goalie is.

Penguin's window is shutting fast, if it isn't already. Having a tandem next year of a 38 year old MAF and DeSmith is not going to get the Pens very far unless MAF returns to Vezina form. I think an Edmonton fan would understand the problem of having a declining starter in their late 30s, and an ok backup in their early 30s.

If you care about analytics, Jesse's are stellar and imply great chemistry with McDavid. If he'll accept $4 mil on something longer than a bridge deal, that could turn into a fantastic contract.

i agree on kuzmenko-nuge-holloway. Kuzmenko has a really nice release an starting him against bottom 6 competition is probably best just as it is for holloway, nuge is smart and reliable defensively so it could really click., ideally you sign puljujarvi for less, but keep in mind he plays well with mcdavid, is shooting a very low % this year, and is huge. and on pace for 20+ goals over a 82 game season without injury.

i really wonder what happens with letang, malkin, etc. If they move on i think its retool time.

I do wonder if malkin either takes a very low contract or if he moves on, the last few weeks the pens have looked like they could use new blood.

in regards to pulju he has great analytics but he also has great real concrete numbers when it comes to goals for and against. he backtracks hard, uses his long stick effectively to break up plays, and lately seems to have been using his body more as a tool. He is bairly scratching the surface of hat he can be in my pov.

I've recently a very long conversation on this site about the Pens' situation. I think they still have a couple years if Malkin and Letang come back, then we need to rebuild. Otherwise, a retool could work, but we might need to rebuild anyway. They're gonna be in a rough spot. I think I heard recently that Malkin asked for 6.6x3 and was lowballed. But I still don't think this Jarry trade is going to happen. Maybe once Lindberg is ready for a starting role, we'll see about what happens with Jarry.
