If Tavares would waive, that’s an easy yes from the leafs. Like very easy. Suzuki and Tavares are pretty similar right now, but Suzuki is way younger.

JT is a faceoff machine, doesn't get pushed off the puck easily and is better offensively and defensively than Suzuki. JT is still better. The only thing Suzuki is better at right now is making less money.

Well aside from Suzuki but pretty much lol.

Nylander is better. Suzuki is good but he's a 2nd liner on his own.

I agree Tavares is better offensively right now. And at faceoffs. Suzuki is probably a bit better defensively though.

Suzuki is by far MTL best player. The next closest would be cole caufield, and while I think he has potential, he is very overrated by habs fans, who think he’s going to pass Ovi in goals lol (doubt he’ll ever get more than one 50 goal season).

By the way, for the record, I do think Tavares is better right now. However, if this trade was offered and Tavares was willing to waive, I would take it in a heartbeat.

What do you mean, “on his own”? Because if you are trying to somehow suggest he is carried by his line mates, you need to do some research…

I know Suzuki is the best Habs player but even with #1 usage he's still only scoring at a 50-60 point pace. Is he going to be a point a game #1 centre? I am not so sure. Not without a #1 top line winger to help carry the load. JT has made a career out of making 3rd liners top line guys. Suzuki doesn't do that.

He has 58 in 78, I just checked.

Tavares has 77 in 79.

To be clear, if this is prime JT vs prime Suzuki, I take prime JT easily. But I would take prime Suzuki over 35+ JT. That’s all I’m saying right now.

Probably could have ended the sentence at Goalie.
