What's the point of Portillo if you already have Wallstedt?

While Portillo is interesting - there’s nothing else in there of interest for the wild. All in all - good on you for trying a wild acgm. But also this is quite unrealistic.

Long term probably like a 7x7.5-8m if he keeps lighting it up and hits like 85 points probably more.

O man, you're right, he's gone. Unless Wild dump some contracts, but that'll probably cost them. Tough decisions ahead

Well Portillo shouldn't be included, I don't know what you expect to get for a RFA with arbitration rights. If his contract is 7 to 8m Minnesota is in trouble there. A 1st and decent prospect sounds about right.

Ya cause a young, cost controlled 30-40 point centre and a 1st is not interesting at all.

The 1st is a late first in a draft that doesn't seem to be that great outside the top 15 and Mittelstadt would be stuck on our 4th line. When you're giving up a PPG winger that's only 25, sorry, but both of those assets aren't very interesting to the Wild.

I think the only way we can afford him is if we traded Dumba, which is doable. We probably wouldn't be able to re-sign Fleury either unless he's willing to take a discount (unlikely). It'll be tough to keep him but it certainly isn't impossible.

The issue is the year after with Boldy, right?

Thank you. I think a great c prospect and a 1st in the 10-15 range is about right. Maybe an nhl depth player too if needed.

Not necessarily, we'll have $2M freed up if we don't re-sign Jost, Talbot will be gone with Wallstedt likely taking his place, Kulikov will be off the books, Gaudreau will either be gone or re-signed for around his current cap, and it's possible the cap goes up. That's at least $5M in cap space, if not more. Could also trade Greenway if needed since we have a gluttony of winger prospects. We should be able to afford him to a bridge deal at the very least.

Agreed its not enough value, Sabres should not trade for Fiala, the fair cost for him would hurt our future

Had this conversation with someone else on here the other day and while this is all /possible/ I don't think its very probable. Especially with Fiala playing closer to 8M than 7M

Not my thread, but this post shows it's possible. It's over the cap but only by $900k and it would not be over if the OP wouldn't have re-signed Jost. So take that post, replace Jost with a vet minimum 4th line center, and replace Fleury with a backup goalie of your choosing, and it works. And again, you can always trade Greenway if you need to (and this post did not)

I've seen the posts and the ways you can do it. I just don't think its a particularly likely outcome. Too much smoke. But hey, we'll see.

To state the obvious, he's gotta be the priority ... the other two can go

Well - much to some people's dismay on this site - Zuccarello has a M-NTC that kicks in soon here, either this year or next, so that $6M if necessary can come off the books while he has value in order to keep Boldy. I'm sure the guy who switches between accounts to rip any wild trade of Dumba, Kulikov or Zuccarello will pop his head in here, but Rossi plays a very similar game to Zucc - moving him might be the best move and sliding Rossi into his role with Hartman at 1.7M at C

Wild aren't pissing off kaprizov to Keep fiala. Some of you are forgetting kaprizov is the franchise. Piss hin off by trading his mentor and who makes him go, and he ask out
