This AGM is VERY experimental. I don't think these trades are realistic at all, I just think it would be fun to see them happen.

WPG
  1. Byram, Bowen
  2. Johnson, Erik
Additional Details:
Very experimental trade for both teams. DeMelo is a very good DFD, and Heinola is up and coming. Getting rid of Johnson also clears more cap space for free agency. They pay the price though, since Byram will develop into at least a top 20 defenseman. This is the ultimate win-now trade for the Avs.

Jets say yes to both, but I don't see Colorado doing any of that, and they wouldn't trade both Byram and Girard; it would be one or another.

That take on Dillons return is not true at all. He can fetch at least one second and another draft pick. The market value for defencemen is very high right now.

Wouldn't be surprised if someone traded for Dillon, but Ottawa isn't a team that really needs his services. Look at their left side next year.

I guess I'll just say two things.

1. "Girard for cap reasons" understates the hell out of Girard as a player.
2. Keeping Byram is more of a win now move than trading him for pretty much anyone. He's already really stinking good.

I get what you're trying to do but in typical fan fashion, you're overvaluing your own guys and undervaluing the players you're trading for.

Apologies for the wording, "Girard for cap reasons " just means that the trade wouldn't work without him. He'd still carry some value.

As for the Byram deal, I do somewhat agree.

I guess I could see him going for more considering the current market.

It's Brenden Dillon...

If we're talking grit, how about a slightly used Zaitsev for Dillon?

Literally to balance that trade at least 2 1st rd picks would have to be going to COL, but that isn’t happening because there is zero chance any team gives up a 2C on an elc, a top pairing dman, and a top forward prospect for 2 years of a guy that isn’t appreciably better than your current 2C and is significantly worse defensively. I’ve seen some ridiculous valuations about Girard but this is hilarious. A cap dump when in truth the asking price for him is in the same area as Chychrun. Just delete this now, it’s one thing to try and be creative and you give fair value there is another where you just prison style a team with one of the best GM’s in the league. Awful.

He's probably gonna get $8M but really he's probably not worth more than $7M to be honest.

Find God Mr Applesauce, find God.
No chance that deal is remotely close to even for COL.
You are saying in exchange for 2 years of Schiefele, COL gives up 5 years of Girard, 7+ years of contract control on Newhook and their best F prospect?

Girard alone probably could get Schiefele. Add in Newhook (a middle 6 C on an ELC) and Olausson (the Avs #1 prospect) and this is just nonsense.

Byram is better today than both DeMelo/Heinola and has a higher ceiling than both of them. He’s only 20.

I'm not a Girard fan but the Jets need wingers who can score, after Ehlers and Connor there's no wingers putting the puck in the net on this team.
