It's been a revolving door of depression all season.

Sens could make no moves this offseason and they'd do better next year just based on luck. No way they get screwed this hard next year... right?

Right?...

No joke. I'm starting to feel like they shouldn't go crazy this off-season. Maybe add a top 6 (Fiala, Giroux or otherwise), but... nothing wrong with letting things mature and grow.

I don't agree. I think Ottawa is better than their record, and they have a bright future, but they still need a lot of help. They are in a great position to push themselves way further ahead this offseason and they absolutely have to take those opportunities where they are. You can't go into next season banking on Alex Formenton and Mathieu Joseph in the top six and expecting that to be enough. Even the D I'm kind of iffy on whether Dumping Zaitsev and adding Sanderson is even enough.

Also have to factor in... do the top four in the Atlantic fall out next year? Are FLA-TOR-TB-BOS going to be worse next year? Detroit will only get better.

I'd love for them to add. Not saying they shouldn't, and I definitely feel they'll either dump Zaitsev and buyout White. But what if you spend that 1st round pick this year on David Jiricek or Simon Nemec? Rounding out your D core for the next couple of years.

You also get a much more mature core in both age and physicality.

If nothing changes:

Tkachuk-Norris-Joseph
Formenton-Stutzle-Batherson
Grieg-Pinto-Brown
Kelly-Kastelic-Watson

Chabot-Hamonic
Sanderson-Zub
Bran-Holden
Del Zotto

Murray-Forsberg
Gus.

For the record I'm not suggesting you move that pick. But the Sens have to make serious strides regardless. You don't make the playoffs waiting for Florida, Boston, Tampa etc to fall off. Only way forward for them is to be better, and they don't have the manpower to do that internally imo.

100%. Add a top 6 F, add a top 4 D. Not that difficult right?

Right?...

fiala giroux rumors i heard , that would help,, if they can move some bad contracts out like white/mon, murray/arizona or buffalo, and zaitev/seattle and try to get theodore out of vegas for like brown/thomson and eiither 2nd rd pick in 2022 or maybe top5 protected 1st in 2023. since vegas needs cap room

They'd sooner try and trade one of Dadonov (again), Patches or Smith before moving one of their top D. Specially Theo.

Fiala is going to be a price and half to pay.

Giroux would be a nice addition. He'd look great in the black and red.

smith is ufa so he doesnt count, still vegas would have to move another 5m contract to fit the current roster plus they have rfas to sign....i dont think many contending teams will take dadanov until vegas throws in a sweetner cause dadanov list will include 10 teams that arent in the playoffs so trading him is slim....aS for patchs he injured to much for teams to take a chance on...and so theodore is the logical course of action...they will make moves if they dont make the playoffs..smith doesnt count been on ltir most of season so he never really impacted vegas at all...as for eichel...has he ever been in a playoffs? vegas will be making changes...lol GO SENS go
